I bought this phone last week for 1,300 RMB (approx 208 USD) on-line at www.JD.com in China. Works very well so far for a midrange cell.

For sure, the 8 mega pixel camera is infinite times more useful than a heart rate sensor or a touch pad.

Bigger screen and resolution and clocked cpu with 2500mah will last the same as p6, maybe worse.
cpu will still lag on games, cos there is no support for this kind of processors(I knew that when I bought p6, but I don't care about games), but will be ok on daily usage(believe it or not, up time on my p6 is 1163 hours, and it still works great, without restarting or problems with apps so I don't doubt that p7 will work ok).
But to put 3.0.8 kernel on this,a two year old kernel, in 2014. is a crime.
And how the hell do they think that kitkat will work in it's full glory on that?
If selfie is the future against the better software, then Huawei is lost.
This one is overpriced now, maybe if it falls down to around 300$, but for this price there are far more better smartphones out there, and owners of the "old" p6 won't lose too much if they pass this model.

But I personally would not buy a phone with no front camera, just because of video communications via Skype amd the likes. 2MP would be more than enough, though.
As for the announcement in general, I'd say it's an eye candy with an OK spec sheet, which suffers from a superiority complex, as the price tag indicates... Thanks, but no, thanks.

Why exactly should the trajectory of technological development in mobile phones place emphasis on how well they'll take selfies? Like seriously? For those calling it a copy of sony, the P6 was released before xperia z. The only copy is the power button which is good thing anyway that they borrowed from sony. DO you want the power button on the bottom instead ?
As for glass back, then well one could say xperia z copied from lg nexus 4 ?

And it costs an arm and a leg. OnePlus One is a loooot cheaper with similar specs and Huawei is no Samsung after all..so why should I buy this?
