Apparently, when some other company makes a QHD screen, you'd moan about "omg batter will sukz"

But if it was Samsung/Apple, you praise them to death.

Battery life will be at a disadvantage but nowhere near as bad as people say it will be. There are more pixels but each pixel is smaller than the previous 1080p FHD model in the LG G2 meaning the power consumption per pixel will be far less which will slightly make up for the fact there are more pixels.

LG is using LTPS panels for the screens, all hail JDI then, the creators of LTPS....

All nice and dandy but the devil is in the battery life.

i bet they are making a 4000ma battery too,
a qhd 5.5 disp needs such thing for a daily use.
if not, they are outta their minds,

Colors look amazing on those demo boards, I just wish they keep looking like that with the gorilla glass on top and non-studio lights conditions.

I will never buy a QHD phone,
FHD has better performance for me.

nice, is always good to see new stuff everyday, but, when will we see a 19" with 441 ppi, or 538ppi like this screen?, i don't know the math, but i guess it will be great for medical purposes, it will be great to see some sort of fully functional "tricorder" with a screen that looks as good as the real world, i know I'm dreaming so please save troll comments, anyways awesome news! way to go LG! need more info on the contrast, viewing angles and refresh rate tho.

The resolution 854*480 is plenty enough for that screen size, and even for children that is a very small screen.

Depending on bezels, even the youngest of chilren in cellphone age should easily handle 3 to 3.5" screens. Unfortuntely one rarely sees anything higher than 800*480 in these sizes, as they are usually made to be as affordable as possible.

I wish they would used the same technique for a 1080p display, that would be 4.1" and thus could give us one hand operable phones instead of all these huge phablets.

Or even a model with a 720p 2.8" display for people with small hands (e.g. kids)
