Apple has been falling behind in camera field, you say? Your stupid camera test was invalidated by majority of the sites. It's still one the best cameras. Offerings from Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia, HTC One(duh!) fell well behind the 5S's capabilities. Just because its 8MP doesnt mean its bad, it tells us that Apple knows what they're doing. Stupid statements made by people who don't know anything

What Apple needs is the image sensor & lens technologies and not just hire the top executive! He is not doing thing by himself!
After acquiring Beats, this is the second biggest mistake by Apple!

And why don't people just buy a $250 camera + a $300 smartphone (exapmle nexus5 )? that would cost $550 dollars and still have an above average smart phone, unlike the k zoom,and 1020. Those who say it's a bulky combination either don't know how to manage their pocket arrangements or are stuck with x5-x10 zoomers. Plus, some modern cameras at this price provide a feature to transfer photos from camera then directly to smartphones.
