The price you pay for the apple phones is for continuous support and the frequent updates and security fixes in the ios. When noticed the update is released across the world to apple devices at the same time unlike android. The ios might not be highly customizable like andriod. But they are far better in security and quality apps, its not about the million apps, but quality and essential apps like blackberry. but its a kinda of heavy OS and occupies most of the internal storage space. The main problem here is not any developer can develop apps like andriod, its not open source.

First correct your knowledge..5c 16gb is available at max 36500....hence the 8 gb verios should be close to 30k

Guys, I'm from India and I have been pretty close to buying an iPhone several times, but every time I backed off because the equation of price vs what it offers was heavily skewed. People who have absolutely no use for a smart phone but keep one for reasons of status tend to buy iPhone, coz they anyways don't know how to "open" settings menu. For this price, there are many top tier android windows phones. Also, based on what the iPhone 5c offers, it a should be priced at maximum of 15000. Anything more is not justifiable.

Wow! So many comments and not a single one about the previously discontinued iPhone 4 (it was just a few days ago!).
Apple got rid of all the garbage (old iPhones 4) from their US warehouses and dumped them on India where they sold out like hotcakes. Even for a hefty price!!!
Don't take my word for it, I quote Tim Crook from this article: "iPhone sales grew by strong double-digits year-over-year, and in India and Vietnam sales more than doubled." All this thanks to suckers that bought an old iPhone 4.
Now to release the sad news for all of you commenters and for all the Indians out there:
iPhone 5c 8GB version will sell like hotcakes for no matter what the price even if it's 1000 Rs lower than 16GB version. Why?
Because all you see around in India is poor and there you have a phone that symbolizes that you are rich (even tho you aren't that much richer than the rest) and you can now get the cheapest Apple device and all you care is that Apple logo at the back of your phone (status symbol).
And poor uneducated people really don't care about the GeeBees and how much music/videos/apps/games they can install, all they care is their ego and how other people will see him. :(
Indian market is big and statistically speaking has a lot more ground before people realize that all this is a scam.

Higher versions of this phone was already released in other countries and even the 8GB iPhone 5c. Did you remember the iPhone 4 they re-released only in india even though there's already 5s? Google all of those. It's like we're garbage to them. Just because our country is garbage doesn't mean the people living in it are.

I rather buy a phone with an internal 32GB polycarbonate plastic-made 5+inches phones with much features than this overpriced ancient 4inches plastic phone. Deep inside, you'll admit that it's an overpriced junk even if you're an Apple fans. So behold the truth.
