In fact, I have never used a stock Android device. I have rooted & installed a custom ROM & S-OFF (HTC) every Android device I've owned, as do the majority of Android users that frequent sites such as this.

iPhone rocks. I have a job so for me it's perfect. And the sync with everything on Apple TV etc is perfect and so smooth. Can't beat the real functionality of iPhone.

And what it does lack mostly is the ability to customize everything, and use third party apps to replace even main apps if required (like the phone or the keyboard app).
Whenever I'm using my wife's iPad, I almost always end up swearing because of one limitation or another..
I agree that if you have a Mac and an iPhone, you probably have more possibilities than with a PC, but still, iOS itself is closed off and way too limited for my tastes (I would have an iPad Air instead of waiting for months for a better Android tablet if it wasn't the case).

Iphone was the best before 4 years because there were no competitors. Today there are far better phones available in better price in the market. Apple is almost same in innovation when it started but other companies have progressed much more than apple. Other important thing is price of iphone .It is unreasonably expensive and people are aware of why it is expensive. Xiaomi already shown the world about the price and quality of phone. Yes Xiaomi is inferior than iphone but just slightly or head to head competitor in quality and compare the prices , 3 times less than iphone.

I never stated that the iPhone wasn't inexpensive to make, nor that it wasn't a costly device.
I was commenting to the user who was proclaiming that Apple products are "crap" "useless" & my favorite "stoneage".
How can something so useless & horrible enjoy 13+billion in profits?
I never really care what a company chooses to charge for a product. I either wait for the price to come down, or I don't buy it altogether.
Believe it or not, the consumer can set the price with basic supply & demand.

Several 3rd parties do them and their dollar amounts always end up between $1-$3 difference. And the Galaxy S4 cost 20% more to manufacture than the iphone 5s- not to mention the galaxy s5. This is actually a headline on several other sites. Either way, that doesn't take away from basic math. Cheap device +high sales price = high profits. Especially if you only have 15% marketshare. Show me a mathematical equation where you can only have 15% of the market but 70% of the profits without charging a high price for an inexpensive device to manufacture.
Secondly, if you read, I said PEOPLE (such as the commenter I was replying to) brag about Apple's profits, not Apple. Reading is fundamental. It makes no sense for people who don't receive a penny from Apple to constantly talk about how much money Apple makes.
Lastly, not sure where you are going with Apple's "prolific" sales. But, 15% is 15%. And a lot of that is a result of the high subsidies US carriers pay for the iphone. That cost that is passed along to all of their customers. A high subsidy is a high price and consumers end up paying it.

The fact that most people have PC rather then Mac, thats why most think iPhone does not have features that pairs well with PC.
And the strict way of how Apple does things: "If it does not work, do not include it", means there is no gimmicky features included, lower the feature set somewhat.
And due to the massive amount of OEM vs single Apple, you might think that Apple is alienating the rest of the world.. But in fact, its just Microsoft vs Mac or Android vs
iOS.

They have no idea how to go about doing the most basic things like getting your contacts..ETC...

We don't know what each device... moreHmm I'm not sure where you're getting this info about the S5's profit margin, but there was a news about it not long ago saying that the iPhone 5S costs about $200 to manufacture while the Galaxy S5 was closer to $260.
Since the iPhone 5S also costs more than the Galaxy S5, it's pretty much the other way around :)
About the reason that people see the iPhone as an inferior devices, it's mostly feature wise, since the iPhone has a closed OS with very limited features compared to Android flagships.
Of course, it is also viewed as a luxury phone, but mostly because of its design.
I'm guessing that most people buying the iPhone do it to show off, because it's "cool" to have an iPhone.
I guess it could be compared to popular brands of clothes with the logo clearly showing.
Of course, the same is probably starting to happen with some Android devices as well since it's a lot more popular now, but I think most people buying flagship Android phones buy them for their features (and/or bigger screen) instead of their look.

Apple isnt just a manufacturer like samsung, they design both hardware and software unlike android manufactorer which puts together hard and software. Iphone doesnt have low specs. Its faster than all the competitors in real life, no lags, maybe overheats when playing hd games but which phone doesnt. It doesnt have unneccissary cores, pixels which you call 'high specs'. Is there a reason to put 1080p on a tiny screen apart from marketting, it just slow down the phone. Iphone dont lag 99% of the time. Chinese phones are no where near iphones. Apple has no innovation? Who doesnt copy apple.

But, as one example & according to 3rd party sources who tear down consumer electronics, the Samsung Galaxy GS5 has the lowest cost to assemble-highest profit margins, even higher than Apple's iPhone.
It also says that there are no 4in. high end mobiles in the segment, so Apple enjoys no competition in this segment. Not everyone wants a huge mobile to carry around with them. Be glad there's a choice should the consumer want a powerful yet pocketable device.
Lastly, Apple isn't bragging. These kind of quarterly earnings & loss reports ARE published and public knowledge.
We Americans also buy the iPhone, along with the Android offerings at a subsidized price, so sales outside the USA are quite prolific. I'm not sure why people view the iPhone as some kind of inferior device. It is viewed as a luxury handset in many parts of the world & priced as such.
Did you even think this out before you typed it, because I can disprove your therioes as they arise.

Apple is losing market share and profit quickly because:
(1) it is selling cheap phone ($199) in very high price.
(2) No innovations
(3) It is not phone maker but just assembler
(4) low specifications
(5) Chinese phones are throwing out it.

Other companies like android phone makers do not have these luxury.. because their offerings are more or less the same, they increase price, people will go to the other brands.. They would have to innovate and differentiate from others.. or copy one good innovator and lower their price.
Just like why people drink expensive coffee from starbucks? I can assure they earn more $$per coffee then those from normal shops.. but are people complaining coffee too expensive?.. those who do not visit starbucks or know why their business strategy might say so..
