In fact more ram will be better for power consumption because it means that background applications remain in ram, suspended (only power usage is from the DDR refresh rate cycles). With less RAM you enter the unload from ram, load to ram, cache on flash things which increase power consumption.
IPhone only has 1GB because their engineers calculated 'it's enough for now', keeping manufacturing costs down is a priority.

I like android but no touchwiz, samsungs designs is getting boring by the year. I own iphone 5S and nexus 4, i prefer pure vanilla android. I5S is great thanks to it's 64 bit system. Even beats the Galaxy S4 in some areas.

They keep puting 2gb of ram when they can actually put 3gb of ram in it.. Extra 1gb of ram is important knowing that touchwiz is heavy. What must be the reason?
