Apple makes to software for the hardware, while Android works with all kinds of hardware.

The Galaxy is the best selling Droid. And it's up against every single other Droid out there.
When it comes to IOS Iphone is it. I has no competition within own OS. Just the other OS's.
Now try and imagine those sales if the Galaxy was the only Android...Luckily not because there are people smarter and more realistic than Apple thnak god.

A year ago I waited for the S4active, then I saw that there won´t be a guaranteecoverage for waterdamages and many screens broke because they are too big. Many S4active had waterdamages because of their USB-socket.
The S5active follows this trend (without guarantee (water)).
Who risks a 700€ phone to water contact?
Who needs a 5-inch or more Full-HD screen in an outdoor-phone, which sucks more battery?
In August 2013 I bought the first xperia V for my girlfriend. As I liked the phone, its specs and the the reduced price I got my Xperia V for free (with 11€/month 2 years contract) in January 2014.
Also waterresistant, now running with the better Android 4.3, changeable battery (outdoor I take a second one with me), BT4.0, real FM-radio, LTE, really bright HD-screen (I never have to look for a shadow like the Sammy-users, if I want to send a message or I want to make a call).
The phone shows Full-HD-Videos and has a good 13MP camera.
It hasn´t waterdamageguarantee, same as the S4A or S5A. But: If I break this device, I buy a new Xperia V nearly for free without contract now, because the XV is from 2012 with specs still ready for 2014. ;-)
Still happy with my decision :-)
And some day a manufacturer produces a REAL outdoorphone: Shock-resistant, completly waterresistant, with a longlasting changeable battery, a bright midsize-screen in HD or a low consumption Full-HD-screen, a good camera, FM-Radio, ANT+ and a weight of maximum 150 grams.
The S5A is near that, as many new Xperias, but only near...

Come on, smartphones are not about just hardware. iPhone is a excellent device, Galaxy S5 too.

I hated the galaxy s5 build quality and the design is not good at all still feels cheap in the hand next to (worst camera ever smartphone) but premium(HTC ONE)even sony xperia z looks much better than S5 but have to say this S5 Active looks very premium and sexy to me honestly& am not Sammy Fan or something actually I had only one smartphone from samsung before the galaxy S3 that phone was the most un respectful worst douchbag smartphone I've ever seen in my life so shame on samsung for releasing those shitty phones and good luck to HTC & Sony & even Chinese companies with their new phones in the markets✌️ Peace that is my honest opinion no one paid me one penny

Looks good to me. Not a hater(Z1C user) but the point is I hate seeing haters comment about ugly design, same spec/not enough power, to much useless version, cheap material. Just please please please stop spamming. Smartphone always have same design: screen,camera,plug,must have a bezel,body design to fit a compatible touchscreen size.
