HTC shouldn't be releasing this in China only, it sounds like a desperate attempt to find customers - they're one of the least popular brands in China. But then again, it's too early to release such a device worldwide or people will be raging at HTC diluting their flagship.

It is very similar to the HTC Butterfly, but there are rumours of a new successor to the HTC Butterfly coming to Japan, so I would think Taiwan and possibly the rest of Asia will get that instead.

Anonymous, 30 May 2014Though HTC is from Taiwan and Taiwan is technically a part ... moreHow is Taiwan a part of China? ROC is not the same as PRC, in fact ROC (Republic of China) IS Taiwan and only Taiwan, while mainland China is PRC (Peoples republic of China), biiiiig difference.

Taiwan is independent and will remain so.

Hope the change in camera is true, 13/5mp would be a great combination instead of their usual ultrapixels.

i think htc is going to do what apple did with iphone 5, just put it in a plastic colorful body and sell it as new phone (5c), so the spec will be same as m7 but with new htc sense 6 ui

Aside from losing the metal body, this version of the M8 is actually better than the original.

still looks ugly as previous model (m7&m8) with the wasted of screen space for the logo which makes the phone too tall. I didn't buy their m7 because of the 2 buttons layout and m8 worst with the extra bazel just for logo. This one is the same, not interested.
