This is probably the first non-geek version of the Sailfish as we have folders and cloud storage of contacts is syncing with google contacts. So looking good!

Still to come are:
- offline maps
- syncing pictures you take with a Cloud-based drive (no matter which one really)

Positives on Jolla:
- unique OS that operates with swipes
- open source platform (geeks love it, but so should corporates in the future due to modifiability)
- Access to Amazon and other appstores
- increasing amount of native apps

Next model should:
- better camera
- option of QWERTY keyboard as "The Other Half" pre-purchased

      There are still things missing:
      - no Swype keyboard
      - limited languages and keyboard layouts
      - NFC limited to TOH
      - no offline maps with navigation
After N9 these are a must

It's simply impossible to compete with Google at the moment.

It's a great thing when one company produces both device and os.
Meego was so amazing and i'm pretty sure Jolla users enjoy using their devices too.
However, once you're exposed to the giants of mobile technology, it's almost impossible to get one of us to jump on Sailfish.
Maybe i'll try the next Jolla device. This one isn't good enough.

SS, 10 Jun 2014After using Nokia N9 on meego I can surely say that we all ... moreNot at all.
The N9 is easy to use, the Jolla relies too heavily on geastures and makes it hard to use, and get used to.

I really wanted the Jolla phone to be something.
But it simply isnt any where near.
And the cool back with keyboard, was a small production by a fan, so its not the qwerty slider I was hoping for either.

Very good Jolla and it's sad to know that Huawei cannot update the Ascend Mate phones for the international users

Jolla left it too late. They had an opportunity to make it big in 2011 when Nokia had the crap WP7 and were doomed, and Blackberry were dying. Sailfish could've become no. 3. But now Nokia are doing great and WP8.1 is by far the best yet. And Microsoft will now take it to the next level with Kinect on Lumia. It's a shame, really, because Sailfish is awesome. Unless they do some massive marketing, it's unlikely for Jolla to join the race and even be no. 4 OS above Blackberry. The competition has matured now.
