AnonD-59645, 13 Jun 2014I'm not sure how is possible to run JB 4.2 on just 256MB of... moreYes it is possible when you turn on a swap file/partition on SD card (it should be fast enough). The cheapest way to run it is to use 'zRAM mechanism' implemented in the Linux kernel. It allows you to create special block device which is compressed on the fly space in RAM.
From my experience on Alcatel Fire (running on FirefoxOS 1.4, 2.0 and now 2.1) it can easily reach compression factor of 3 without big impact on performance (I have only single core Cortex A5, on multicore Cortex A7 it will be much better).

It is just JB because the old and unpowerful MTK dual core has no support for KK

Crap, dont look at the price, this is a POS, it was a horrible experience with my Xperia Ray at ICS with 512mb ram and 1gb internal(usable 300mb) leave alone JB with even less memory, please dont fall for this.

They could've just used a single core 1.2GHz and added 512MB ram. And kitkat preinstalled this would've given the Star pro a run for their money

am i seeing things or thats sony's ui
and is 256mb of ram enough for it to run jelly bean + oem stuff without crashes and reboots?i know it wont be a screamer but wont it choke on that amount of ram?evenif the cpu is a dualcore 1.2

Its great to see android phones going at dirt cheap price point but karbon could have increased Ram to 512MB at a slightly higher price(say 3000 rupees) which would have been welcomed.

I'm not sure how is possible to run JB 4.2 on just 256MB of RAM, when KitKat requires at least 340MB and it is lighter on resources than any JB version?

Also, that is a Sony skin in screenshots...

The UI certainly doesn't look the same as Sony on 4.2.2.
