Your social make up makes a world of difference when it comes to technology. LTE is expensive to implement and maintain, so that's the problem for a start.
I lived in Indonesia for some time, and mobile data, in comparison to other countries is dirt cheap, but it's adjusted to the income of its population naturally. But that doesn't mean that the cost of implementation of LTE will be any cheaper. Companies like Ericsson and Huawei won't change their pricing just for Indonesia, so you gotta have a pretty compelling business case to roll out such technologies in countries with lower GDPs. That's all.
We've got fast Internet in Australia - if you can afford it. Technology comes at a price.

You're probably one of those people here in india whose blissful when others are slower than other countries. Our country is big yet we are being beaten by other smaller countries in terms of technology like Japan, Korea, The Philippines and Singapore just to name a few. But, you know, we beat North Korea. Let's think Positive!......nah.

How do they develop all these networks and deploy? that's really amazing and requires lots of effort and research. Rural Places in India still have the edge network spread over. Only main cities have 4G circled up.
