The OS is very good for this type of phone I'll it that. Giving it a more moderen set of features is a really big plus in my book too. Hopefully the camera will be good. Still haven't found a 3mp that is on the same level as my old D900...

A better sales rep, 18 Apr 2009Oh please, there's no way they're releasing the G3 this yea... moreeh the g1 does not suck... i love my g1... tried the bb8900 didnt like it... so stuck wit my g1... and will be purchasing this sk to replace my current lx... sidekicks r a great full featured messaging device... aimed at the younger market... so i say if think the phone isnt for u than DONT BUY IT

the main thing i would serioulsy like to change on sidekicks is the limited memory for basic features. without a sd card the 2008 can only hold 5 pictures and for textg messaging 130 mesages all together. And email doesnt do so well either.
but i do agree that the sidekick needs a touchscreen eventually even thought that would mean the operating system would be screewed up

will this phone work with prepaid as the ones before have? and even if it does, will it play youtube with the prepaid?

even a 12year old would know that this guy is not a sales rep. But I think this is a ok midrange phone. The sreen is big. But where is the 2nd camera? ps: 2009 is The year for touch sreen.

The G1 sucks and it's NOTHING compared to the Blackberry 8900. Hell, even the WING is better than the G1. You can take your G1 and the crappy battery and shove it!

People these phones are a waste of money and time. I see at least 5 to 6 sidekicks a week that have problems whethere it's the sidekick 1-3 series or the I.D., the slide(worst sidekick ever) the orignal LX or the 2008. This is a good phone for a responsible 12 year old. The software sucks, they crash at least once a week. I myself have the G1 and it's the best phone on the T-Mobile floor and right behind it would be the new Blackberry 8900. If you are looking to upgrade or activate wait until this summer when the Wing 2 (aka HTC touch pro 2) or the fall when the G3 will be here (because the G2 sucks). If you buy this phone it's simply because you don't know what a good phone is and you are just following the pack. SIDEKICKS ARE LAME!

on a 200 american on a contract base probably means its gonna cost you 500ish for the phone without a contract both still is fairly averaged priced for this phones features

I currently sell the predecessor, i find that we have alot come back due to the heavy-handed children that it's so popular with.will this have the same problems with battery and screen slider as the danger hiptop?
I can a appreciate that it's a different branding but the design implies that it uses the same architecture as the other,aside a few differences.

854x480... wow. Finally western phones are closing the gap with the Japanese ones in terms of resolution. Not as good as 1024x480, but close.
