Still, I is a great, simple and super durable phone. I bought one when they came out,and stillworks great,not to mention battery lifetime, that is better then moast stuff sold today.

It is incredible to see the retardation of some of the comments being left here.
Most likely culprit? Weak crypto and keys that have hit the black market. Of course, this doesn't entirely make sense either, because in theory the keys (most likely Ki) would inherently make this exploit work on any phone.
Want to know more about cell phone cryptography and how easy it has been to break for a few years now? Check out h1karis work, with a large cluster of FPGAs any conversation over GSM can be cracked within a few hours.
