anon, 24 Jun 2014I bought Nokia XL at us$94 through a promotion in sg. And e... moreWell this is one way to kill the Nokia X platform. Make customers feel like they're been ripped off so that the board can kill off the X-platform and then tell everyone how the world loves Windows Phone. This is pure stratego.

Anand, 24 Jun 2014API 19 is for Android 4.4.x Kitkat. Not Jellybean 4.3"API 19 is for Android 4.4.x Kitkat. Not Jellybean 4.3"

Which is specifically targetted to use LESS memory and be more efficient. Funny, Google does everything it can to get Android run comfortable on moderately equipped devices (even withotu ANY buttons at all) yet the "biggest software company in the world that produced the richest man in the world" isn't competent enough to get it running because the new device have an additional home-button.

Yeah, that certainly gives me the confidence in Microsoft for the future... NOT! >:->

Ah so because of "the necessary hardware upgrades"
the "software platform 2.0 won’t be available"??? Am I the only one who thinks this is fishy?

I also can't understand why an OS which at its core is the same as the previous one bar some minor cosmetic changes, can't run on the older hardware? Amazing that for example Sony can upgrade a Gingerbread Xperia U upto JellyBean but Microsoft can't upgrade a Jelly bean 4.1 upto a newer Jelly Bean 4.3. Is this another company run by monkeys? Greed and incompetence are their main triumphs.

I'll remember that when I have some spare cash to burn and need a new phone. Mokia... no thanks!

Then same rule will apply for Samsung, lg, Sony... Etc... most of their phones won't or did not get android kitKat...!

Nokia is under microsoft now. Time to abandon this ship.
Cant really believe microsoft is doing this. They are really risking their reputation by not giving x2 update to there previous x lineup. Already they had a tarnished reputation by not providing update to windows phone 7 users. Now this? I was a Nokia fan(was because i don't believe its gonna be the same under Microsoft) and so i adopted Windows Phone 8. No doubt the os has the capability to be one of the best in the market(though its not yet). But now without Nokia's trust, I am abandoning this ship.

I bought Nokia XL at us$94 through a promotion in sg. And even at that price I found it to be pretty average phone. I root it & install Play Store immediately since the Nokia store itself is terrible. Not going to rely on Nokia anymore.

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2014pls explainHe means that it's a one time release. One os(that came with it) and you are no loner entitled to support

Btw it's terribly inconsiderate of manufacturers. Htc also fell down because it ignored the entry level smartphones( never provided even a 0.0.1 upgrade to the android version of htc explorer).

I know these are budget smartphone and therefore you don't give updates but I think all manufactures should take a leaf out of moto' s book, atleast they have promised next version of android for the moto e.

A bit of a slap to the face to the ones who bought the first gen nokia X phones. They didn't even make it to the first update cycle.
