The only good option in the mobile OS section is no other than windows phone, though Microsoft has been lazy at introducing key features to their OS.

Apple did copy Android too, y'all know! Notification drawer is already on the first version of Android (even the beta). Then Apple got it on iOS 5 and so on.

What really suck in Android L is the displacement of the on screen buttons. Every now and then, Google changes the look of their Android OS and call it new just for the sake of change. I'm really bored with this OS but there's little to no choice of an alternative open source linux OS for smartphones. Using Android L on a tablet would prove to be hard, esp. with the arragement of the on screen buttons.

The current icons are the same as KitKat but they are going for a flatter design that incorporates the "material Design" style which will look really bold yet minimalistic.
