Although the design does certainly look to be inspired by Apple's iPhone, it reminds me moreso of the recent Galaxy Tab S designs. The chamfered, polished edge is wider than the iPhone, and the actual flat side is narrower. Regardless of whether it's copied or not, I really like it. I always love me some chamfered edges. :)

If anything, this phone resembles Note 3 design, with its chrome plated plastic frame.
Apple got its iPhone design idea from a Sony prototype. Technically we can say that its all been copied from Sony, by all brands. But Sony has never built that prototype back in '06, so... there was never such a device on the market. Due to that, its a free for all design.

Samsung mentioned a new form factor on the new note, when you look at the corner closely you will see it bulges out, really hope this is the new note 4
