I do not think any sane person will buy Tizen Phones from Samsung, i am still nursing a Samsung Bada Phone.I bought for about 275 US $.Samsung Sold MILLIONS of BADA phones and then abandoned the buyers leaving them helpless. Public has a loooong memory Samsung..Tizen buyers will suffer same fate.

FreezeGame, 11 Jul 2014Perfection takes time! Once ready, it'll definitely be wort... moreNice joke. Samsung is just trying to cross apple by creating their own os. I know iOS has limitations. But people still love it. Samsung dosent even know how to name something. Look at HTC sense and TouchWiz. Stupid name. Samsung is just trying to get everyone. Samsung has about a 150 phones in the market at the moment. But crappy plastic. I couls count the phones from sony and apple in my fingers. And they still has better reception than samsung.

Wonder what's up with Samsung, they seem to have lost their bearings, as if in a daze.

They've warned of a third consecutive quarter of poor results, way in advance, which indicates that it will be very bad. (Keeps Wall St estimates on the low side, to take the bite out of actual announcement).

AnonD-152462, 12 Jul 2014Bada os was way ahead of android in terms of smoothness and... moreIt doesn't matter what kind of experience anyone has during basic OS development. If Samsung won't be interested in constant maintanance of the OS (which was the reason why Bada died), then it just doesn't matter. It will suck either way.

People loved BadaOS at first and we had great new ideas to further improve it. There were new apps coming and more being promised. I was even working on several really nice themes for Bada phones (maybe you even remember the nWave and Lismore 2.0 themes that i've designed on BadaForums). But Samsung had their development cycles long as a snake, updates were released with months delays based on countries alone, the 2.0 version removed many of the cool features that we had and after we complained and Samsung did absolutely nothing, we were pretty much forced to look elsewhere. I was soo angry back then that i've bought much inferior HTC Wildfire with Android and never looked back. And never will. Hence the hate towards the Tizen. It just never will work. Period. Because Samsung is simply incapable of developing software themselves. Not incapbale, they aren't even interested in doing it. That's why they should stick with Android and work on better quality hardware instead. They should also stop fiddling with the stoc Android and instead provide more software updates to all their phones instead of leaving them outdated because they just can't handle so many individual dedicated firmwares for each phone. Or employ more people. It's ridiculous that not even flagship models from last year get reliable and constant software updates. And then we still see phones stuck on Android ICS 4.0 (or even older) that could easily run latest 4.4.4.

Bada os was way ahead of android in terms of smoothness and battery performance. i remember play asphalt on my dad's Samsung wave S8500...lot of fun! great handset but lacked softwares. BADA failed due to lack of experience on Samsung's side. lack of api's to perform even basic task like backup contacts or use front cam for selfies. Tizen is different! Experience from Nokia and Intel have gone into building the os. they said it would be compatible with android apps. Hopefully it will succeed

Tizen is not that good. lack of Apps. Shame it looks crisp and smart. But sadly apps or lack of them, is not good. I have a gear watch i have just updated to Tizen guess what about 100 apps for it, are available if that.

It takes that Samsung has realized that it is a product that will die immediately at the time made Bada OS. An operating system has to offer something really good to be able to compete with the all powerful Android and Iphone.

Samsung has always enjoyed stealing, hence Touchwiz, an attempt to cover normal consumers' eyes, and to make it Samsung's. The plan was to use it and transition to Tizen, which has the same look and feel, without most lay customers knowing any better.

Google's new initiatives recently though, have been warning shots to Samsung, and to strengthen the Android brand, making it difficult for Samsung to make the leap.
