Luckily Asus & Garmin are both in the Open Handset Alliance and soon Android will rule them all!

Linux doesn't mean its open-source. Its the opposite actually, meaning it has a closed OS and you can't install your own applications unless they were made for the phone of one of the "open" languages (I'm a noob, I know) it supports. Like java on S40 nokia phones - you can install some apps, some games but you have to start them from a specific folder. S60 nokia phones support pretty much phone book replacement and sms management programs instead, giving you much more freedom. Proprietary OSes, like linux-based OSes (which isn't linux itself), limit your freedom.

Cancel it already! There's nothing really new about it anyway.

If the put Android on this instead of actual Linux, they could still make "noise" with this phone.

if they had released it on time, i think it wud hv sold but now, i dont see any reason to buy this instead of say palm pre, iphone, htc g1, nokia n97, SE idou, LG crystal, LG viewty smart, and a few other phones (mainly samsung).
ppl dont buy their phone primarily to navigate with and with other phones offering gps and with far greater specs, i wonder, who wud wna buy this?

Proprietary Linux based OS? I'm just wondering what could that be, since Linux is published under GNU/GPL?!
