The 5.5" iPhone 6 may not be released due to manufacturing issues, which is good news for Samsung.

the fact that Samsung's life is clinging on a release of a competitors protect shows how badly it is already struggling. The "inevitable" is pretty much delayed. Apple will eventually anyways release the 5.5 inch Iphone. So i'm not really sure how it is good news. The fact that a 4.7 inch phone is coming already bad news for them anyways.

hahaaa..whatever happened to Apple's expert analysis that the size of the iphone 5 fit the human palm 'just right' and that users did not want a bigger device. I guess the users won this time around, huh. What did you learn Apple ?

I think it will be released; probably sometime early next year.

Maybe it'll help drum up sales for the 4.7" iPhone as well.

"iPhone users want a big screen? Buy the 4.7" model."
Then suddenly.. "Oh look, now a 5.5" model is out..!"

After steve jobs dead, APPLE is DEAD. Moreover, they manufacturer their devices in a cheap chinese manufacturer called foxxconn. Better buy new samsung S5 with ANDROID

Prolly a good thing for Apple.
You're all right that a larger version of the same phone wood have struggled if released around the same time as the next Note.
The productivity of the next Note would have been leaps & bounds ahead and Apple would struggle to justify the usual ridiculous over-expense for something that wouldn't be justified in a market that is already quite matured.
Not just Samsung - Sony, HTC, etc - even Nokia/WPs too.

I prefer a lot 4.7" size (on Android OS). Besides this size, it seems really exaggerated to keep in your pocket, at this point the tablet it's better.

It's not like releasing the 5.5" version would've made a difference to the market sales. Apple can't even take advantage of a larger screen device like what they did with the iPad.

Even if the 5.5" iPhone 6 would have released this Fall, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would have eaten it alive in all aspects. The only thing that can replace a Galaxy Note is the next model. Period.

Apple is 3 years too late, and failing even at that.

People need to understand how difficult it is to make a >5" glass touch screen to begin with whether or not it is sapphire, gorilla glass, or any other type of glass.

Absolutely gutted. This was going to be my return to apple after the dissapointing 3GS I suffered with for over 18 months back in 2009.
