r, 18 May 2009Whoever says Winmo sucks and Symbian OS is great is dillusi... moredude, as for installing symbian applications, all u need to do is set the 'online certificate check' to off and there's way to hack the OS to install anything application (it doesn't mess up your phone).
You can create the latest work document, there's a free upgrade that nokia offers on almost all E-series phones.

hey guys,
I really need all your expertise advise. I mainly use smart phone for business use.. such as mass group sms to my over 5000 data base customers group.... That is why I choose WinMo cos I can use category to group up my customers in outlook... Good and bad point, WinMo is great but Symbian is more easy to use.. it is true for me... BUT , HELP, if say, I decided to change my phone to for example E71 or E75 Nokia... then how can I remain and support for the Categories in outlook for my contact??? and then how can I perform the mass sms to my customer by using category in Symbian???.... is there a way , which can be done in Symbian , E71 or E 75 or whatever model in Nokia????
Please help

Whoever says Winmo sucks and Symbian OS is great is dillusional at best. I had the Q9h and loved the keyboard and threaded sms that is built into the OS. Winmo also offers scrolling panels on your homescreen, which provides access to everything in the phone from the front screen. Sync with Outlook via USB is a breeze, it uses Activesync. Not to mention you can create your own docs, word excel etc directly on the device. I recently upgraded to the E71x because Q9h had terrible non-3G call quality. I had the E71x for a week and returned it. No built in threaded SMS, homescreen is not very customizeable, bluetooth call quality was absolutely terrible, need to purchase license to create your own Office docs, not to mention you need signed Symbian apps to install, or else you need to get a developers certificate and sign any unsigned apps before you can install and use them.
Winmo may have a few minor nuances like any OS, but I'll take Winmo over Symbian or any other OS anyday....

I don't know why people are saying symbian is good for multimedia. Many reviews pointed out how the e71 was lame because it still had pretty much the same multimedia function as the old e61. Maybe n-series are little better but symbian isn't really that great in multimedia. I do like symbian because it's easy to use and well intergrated.

Regardless of the fact I'm no fan of Landscape screen, portrait QWERTY smartphones, you people have got to understand - Windows Mobile gives you near total freedom.
I mean, TONS of programs for it, the options are unlimited.
Why WinMo devices are better than, say, LG Arena or anything else?
Because they have a platform that can alot of applications.
To me, a true smartphone is one that can download torrents.
Symbian can do it, iPhone(My blood enemy) can do, LG Arena - Can't, and, ofcourse, Windows Mobile, as you'd expect from the mobile edition of Windows, no less, can do it.

Anonymous, 15 May 2009Yes i agree with all WinMo haters and trashers in here. Win... moreThe issue is manufacturers who try to sell WinMo phones as something they are not I.e. multimedia based phones for the general market, this is the big area of fail for WinMo devices as they are quite difficult to set up and use and not really suited to the average user.
If you can cook your own ROMs go for it, if you don't know what this means get something else.

Omg stop with the black berry copy thing already,
First it was that all touch phones are iphone clones even if they did in fact come out before the iphone, now this nonsense about qwerty keyboard phones being blackberry copies, Grow up people.

I'm very pleased with the upgrades done to the blackjack. I used to have the blackjack 2 and hated because of some of the things that it didn't have. But it seems that samsung has cleaned up all of those design flaws. However, if i were an at&t customer i would still choose the nokia e71 over the jack because of the whole windows mobile thing.

Yes i agree with all WinMo haters and trashers in here. WinMo is very hard to handle and not user friendly... that is true for underaged kids or if you mainly use your phone as a paper weigh or to snap your own photos in terrible pose and post it over myspace or facebook or whatever you guys are using right now. (Don't get me wrong, I don't hate any other phone OS) As for the rest WinMo users who really appreciates the complexity and the highly customizability nature of WinMo I say keep on rocking and meet you at MoDaCo!
