A healthy discussion is always welcome.The question is not whether Apple is number one or Android phones. The only question is what is a persons requirement and which smartphone is able to satisfy it. Taking my own example I am not interested in taking photos so the importance of camera in my smartphone is not important. Apple is to be given due credit for providing a smartphone. However due to their pricing policy (whatever constraints they have for pricing it high not be better discussed) it become exclusive and status symbol. However Android smartphones have been able to make the advantages of a smartphone easily and cheapily available to users. One thing is to be remembered that in todays economic scenario no one easily wants to take risk and play safe. So once apple has designed a smartphone they are improving it gradually but not drsstically and why should they if post is being reaped. However Samsung and others are new in the field so they have to make strategy for adding those features which apple may not be able to provide initially so as to gain market share. I have used both apple and android phones. In my opinion they both are good ones depending on your requirements. For me Apple may be good but my needs are very well fulfilled by android and at a very cheaper price.

When a new e-class mercedes is released it is full of brand new innovative technology which is years ahead of their rivals (which is what the original iphone was). It takes years for all the others to encorporate this technology (read ABS, parking sensors, 3 point seatbelts, infra-red camera, parking assist) into their cars whilst mercedes continue to develop ahead of the times. Apple had this but then just have not preogressed at any speed, they were very innovative with their first 3 generations of iphones however since then they have just not progressed and just tred to add minor tweaks to their phones.
Does this help?? You will now no doubt go on to say Mercedes is completely different market but they are similar companies - Both 'luxury' brands said to be ahead of the times however only 1 is.
I also have never said in any of my points i hate apple, quite the opposite actually. They completely revolutionised the mobile industry however they have gone stale whilst most other companies (apart from Samsung) have gone passed them with how their phones work, look and features they contain. ANd going back to my original point this is why it annoys me that they announce record profits despite missing their projections so in my opinion they are exploiting their customers and taking advantage of the brand loyalty that they have.

iOS updates.. All iPhones get it in one go.
Android updates.. Only a few selected few.
We get fixes. Android... well android just go get yourself a new phone, very cheap right? S3 seems cheap enough.. time to listen to Samsung, get S5.. and stop thinking about updates.

Yes it did and they had to update it with this major bug fix! iOS 7 took ages to be released (copy of jellyean)with iOS 8 due to come out with new iphone.

At the end of the day, for someone who supposedly dislikes Apple so much, you spend most of your time speaking Apple Apple Apple rather than a company you supposedly admire. The truth is deep down, you cannot speak much about other companies, as there is not much you would be able to say.

Admitted, Apple is not as flexible as Android but hardly dealbreakers, or else they would have collapsed by now.
Real innovation isn't just 'features' you tack on here or there.
Apple innovation which people in the industry admire, runs deeper, such as in their manufacturing ability, the ability to bring to masses what is normally purely in high end luxury class goods. Engineering of such precision, yet on such a large scale.
Similar on the software front, intelligent innovations such as SWIFT, which really simplifies programming work for developers

You also forget how iPhone actually truly changed the smartphone landscape itself. A phone with just a screen, and a truly user friendly user interface, which really set the template for things to come. Android owes a lot to iOS changing the paradigm of smartphones.
Attack attack attack Apple, say it lacks innovation. But name one company that arouses as much excitement in its announcements and what new thing they will bring.
Please list how Samsung or any other smartphone company is so much better at innovation, then list me those innovations. It is easier to mock.
This is why 'hater' is really an insult of a label to have, and one that most people would prefer to avoid, except you, happy in your ignorance.

If you want examples then here you go:
Iphone: Same design for 4 years - no evolution until the 6 and even then it looks like a copy of the HTC One M7. Still no removable battery. No SD card slot allowing user to increase memory without having to pay excessive prices. Still no IP rating for waterproof/dustproof. 8MP camera is not outdate - 3 years old. Blutooth is appalling - only connects to other Apple devices therefore if moving from android/BB/Windows lacks appeal due to not being able to transfer data. Accessories ridiculously priced. iOS updates slow and full of bugs when released.
Is that better????
Again still all my own opinions but you asked why in my opinion Apple have lacked innovation and these are my reasons, whilst other manufacturers evolve Apple are staying dormant and stationary.

You say Apple is no longer innovating, and don't give a single example, then you say Samsung is really innovative and again don't say why.
Sure you are entitled to an opinion, but respected opinions are usually backed at least by some facts. You throw yours aroound, and then expect it to be the gospel truth.
Also, an opinion, can be accepted, or rejected. Most here reject your opinion, so if you want it to be accepted, you need to strengthen your arguments.

I don't isolate one group of people in favour of another just to make sure my point is validated by x, y and z. What i type is my own personal opinion, if you think its garbage then that is your personal opinion. Forums like this are designed for people to post their own opinions, don't like those then ignore them. I'm sure you have all posted about other things. I have no personal preference over phone manufacturers, i have used most of them and change to what i deem is the best phone for me at the time. If an article appears that i feel i want to comment on then i can and don't have to care about what anyone thinks as its my opinion.
In my opinion Apple are no longer innovators and all about their customers, they are now all about money and how much money they can squeeze out of their customers. In My opinion the build quality of their phones is becoming poor (6 of my work collogues have iphones, 5 are broken/been replaced and broken again, 1 is just a brand new phone) so MY opinion is that they are poor and i also see this on a daily basis with other people i meet. They lack innovation just like Samsung and are falling behind Sony, HTC and LG in the phone market. Even the ipads have gone stale now where they're all the same every year with a fancy new name and fancy named processor/screen/feature that don't really differ from previous generations.
Apples only good grace in MY opinion at the moment are their iMacs which are beyond anything on the market.
Don't like what i have to say then tough as its MY opinion not yours.

Just take any sort of little thing that you can half assemble into some sort of insult, and just repeat repeat repeat. I understand the approach of a hater's mind.
No company is perfect, even Apple, but you really don't have to suffer PMS cramps just because a lot of people like it. Enjoy your own phone, which no one here seems to know, since you only talk about the one you hate, rather than talking about the one you love lol.
