Anonymous, 23 Jul 2014Why? They're axing Nokia employees, which weren't a part of... moresame reason why Nokia axed jobs before they sold their mobile division. no point in paying people to sit on their asses doing nothing. Microsoft doesn't need Symbian software developers from Nokia. basically they fired non essential people. imagine having to pay 18,000 people every year and getting nothing in return. They have their own people to develop WP OS. pretty smart of Microsoft to get rid of their Nokia x series. WP 8.1 is way better than the x series. maintaining the x-series would have costed them a few hundred million more especially with companies like xiaomi around

Might never switch to any other phone os

      1. Microsoft .. laugh with iPhones comes out.
      2. Alarmed when the mobile world exploded without their WMo6
      3. Ditch their Wmo and make WP7..
      4. Alarmed when the tablet world overtook Win lappy
      5. Added metro.. and screw the desktop users
      6. Make tons of convertible tablets/hybrids

They failed to realise each device requires different UI and requirements.
      1. Tablet - Need touch - Not UI/icons too small to touch..
      2. Laptop - Need pointer device / Keyboard

      Total messup design. And directions.

Now they are consumed by Apple from both Desktop and Mobile arena. They do have the advantages thou.. OEMs that can makes their software everywhere.

Wish them luck on Win9. Seems they are getting Apple's idea of different UI for different devices types. Instead of forcing metro on everyone.

In Windows the registry IS stored in files.

                    C:\windows\system32\config\...

Everything in Windows must come from data stored and read from file.

I can also crash Linux when I edit files when I have no idea what I'm changing.

Microsoft. REMOVE YOUR REGISTRY CONCEPT Pleaseee.

A simple tweak of the registry can bring the entire OS to a standstill is not a good design.

Move on to more linux based design... whereby everything's a file.

And please no metro for desktop users.

People are using your product only because of this 3 reasons:
                      1. Cheap alternative
                      2. Office - Another rant worthy product..
                      3. PC Gaming - Just barely.
