Yesterday the Xiaomi Mi 3 sold out in India in record time, but how many were actually available?

It was a terrible experience with sale of MI3 on flipkart as buy now button was inactive for at least 10 min after the sale kicked off. And there was numerous times internal server error. And if it proceeded it never showed the phone in the shopping cart. And finally after 30 min it showed up by the time one reached to payment it again disappeared off the shopping cart and then came the screaming achievement of Stocks sold out. So do not know how people bought. There was no color option shown. So all in all a long 40 min effort leads to disappointment and huge frustration and next sale after 7 days. Am not sure how will the after sales experience be. This shopping experience is not likely to leave a great taste. Xiaomi management should look into it. Shopping experience and after sales service is key.

Those numbers are good where in India people go for Samsung phones. And a Chinese brand getting so much attention is really good. Its a good deal with competitive price and better features. Only thing matters is the reliability and services.

it could have been less than 10 min if flipkart would not have crashed, trust me i was there. i had to click non stop at "buy now" for 28 minutes to register a sale.

Don't agree. Even Google's site crashed during Nexus launches. This is Flipkart, not having even an ounce of infrastructure Google has.
Just imagine a lac people hitting a single page on your website, plus thousands others searching for other products, EVERY SECOND. Was bound to cause issues. Nothing over-the-top about it.

This kind of marketing gimmick is done for one thing only, the headlines in the media the next day, and that's about it.

The flipkart site crashed and started throwing all sorts of weird errors. If the site would have the worked properly, the units would have sold out in 5 minutes or less.

This is purely Flipkart's marketing strategy to build-up hype on the product. They did the same thing with Moto E. It's a really stupid strategy. It might pay-off in the short term, but will definitely damage the reputation of Flipkart in the long run. Customers will eventually call their bluff.

the camera performance is not good & no expandable memory so what makes sense to have such a good hardware, what i mean is if it supports memory expansion & good camera performance then it's worthy for the hardware rather than asus zenfone 5 is a good option because it has got good specs

hoho, 23 Jul 2014in Malaysia Mi3 sold out in less than a minute even with 10... moreThat was because the site was crashing consistently. If it had been handled better, they would have sold out in 5 minutes.
