Larger phones have larger screens with less dense pixels so it makes sense for them to be cheaper to make and sell

everybody bubbaling about phone size. Ive had no2 and note 3. A big phones are ergonomicly better. Bigger screen for eyes, bigger screen for typing with your fingers, also, everyone knows that isnt good to have any phone in pocket...also, is not the same if i have lenovo k920 or some "small" girl/man, neither if i have iphone with big fingers/arms or some "small" girl/man.we can talk about this for months, for me this phone is ideal, for somebody else is not.

The smaller phones are always cheaper (except the iPhone which historically has worked lousy in China since it only supported Edge/GSM with the largest provider, people still bought it and suffered with slow 2G because it was hip/for status).

But yes, they are from a developing country (instead of stagnating countries still stuck with their old thinking from Nokia/Sony Ericsson phones).

But, seeing someone holding a phablet to their ear is the definition of ridiculous.

Plus, if you drive and try dialing on one of those things, you quickly appreciate having a phone that's 5" or less.

AnonD-116479, 26 Jul 2014I guess 6 inch display will be too huge. I don't know why c... moreThis phone is for China and 5,5" is the new standard there. Most middle-class city people (except those hanging on to their super-expensive iPhones bought for status) have large phones, the most sold phone in China is the Note 2 I think. Many have even larger phones (6" and bigger) even old ladies. Not many females carry their phone in their pockets either.

It's very common to watch TV-series in the metro so you can understand why they want big phones (it looks ridiculous when the iPhone people watch movies with a big pair of headphones on a tiny screen).

The rest puts out good hw sure but still nerfed by closed sources and are hardly AOSP+GPL compliant.

I guess 6 inch display will be too huge. I don't know why companies these days make such huge phones which we can't carry the pocket. This phone surely has killer specs, but too huge I guess. Lenovo could have made a 5 inch display phone.

Well, all we techlovers and ordinary smartphone users, have to be honest and so admit that almost all the Chinese companies are doing really a quite great job! In ways they are really increasing the bar of technology, and will serve as inspiration or even as a lesson to the big names! So really compliments to the Chinese companies, like Oppo, OnePlus, huawei, Xiaomi, Lenovo, etc, really well done to them! and if the big names, such as Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, etc., do not really take this into consideration! ? in a few years there will be the possibility that the Chinese will can take even over! !!???

tp, 26 Jul 2014According to my calculations based on gsmarena's dimensions... moreHmmmm, seems odd to me. If you look at the SHARP Aquos 302SH it's got extremely thin bezels and the screen ratio is 80.5%.

                        http://www.softbank.jp/mobile/product/smartphone/302sh/

The 302SH LOOKS like it has the most screen area to me, so any other phone would have to be below 80%.

Have to agree, the s801 will not survive with the QHD screen and the battery being too weak as well. They should have waited to add the s810 chip, would have been awesome.

I have dynamic live wallpaper and i experienced no lag plus i get over a day and a half usage after one full charge. Sorry but before u in accurately scream it lags and the battery is poor test the phone first. Ive worked in mobile telecommunication several years and of all the recent major flagships i choose the G3 over s5 and z2. If the phone lagged or had poor battery i would have exchange for different flagship. Im not a fan of LG but i take my hats off too them. The G3 is what the s5 should have been. Optimus UI is super flexible and customisable. Even the app icon button images can be customised and thats without rooting the phone. The os supports it.

So much lag :( Why bother with a QHD screen if you are going to skimp out on the processor and gpu? The 801 is best served on 1080p not 2.5K. Use the 805 or wait for the 808/810. Battery life is going to be suspect as well. The G3 is terrible for lag and battery.

SD 801 is too weak for the resolution. Going to lag like G3 and burn through that 4000 mAh battery as if it is 3000 mAh.

Lenovo flagships always look good but defective, brittle screen, over heating, laggy, poor battery.
