Apple only wins because of the deals with carriers. That is by far the way they mark up their mobiles. Very few people actually pay cash outright and why would you. So it is the carriers that do the deals, not Apple as such. Without carrier deal, all the top end mobiles would not be built and that is a fact.

In short Apple iPhone have a double digit markup on cost (don't ask me the exact % as IDK) it dwarfs the mark up of all the others major players (probably combined)
The mark-up was amply demonstrated with the iPhone5C (in effect the plasticised version WITH IMPROVEMENTS!) of the iPhone5.
The IP5C did NOT sell so there was a price cut which was NOT just a price cut but halving the memory to 8Gb
The difference in price was not that much
this is a mde up story with no logic; common sense; economics; or the 4th dimension TIME

Foxconn then use the equipment which produces Nokia, Sony, Motorola, Microsoft and BlackBerry phone to make iPhones because all equipment is flexible that way ?
In the REAL world
There is some slack that can be taken up but the Apple order will use more resources and take longer, as there are existing contracts with the others that production will not stop, indeed if those orders have already been satisfied, that personel will already be on the Apple run
Why this story make no sense is that it ignores time
So "in the beginning" when a new phone is launched great demand there is.

In China apple is already being pushed into 3 place, after Samsung and Xiaomi who have just released their 16Gb and 64Gb Mi 4 for $320 and $400
The way to take market share away from Apple is to offer a high spec phone for less
A price increase does the opposite and makes no sense whoever touted this as a reason just want another Apple based story.

This is the not true at all. When company 1 negotiates specific terms regarding the production of certain parts from a manufacturer, the contractual agreement does not get altered because company 2, 3, or 4 comes aboard. The manufacturer takes on new customers according to its available resources.
Production for all companies will remain steadfast, and the contract for each cannot be breached without the manufacturer facing severe legal consequences. Foxconn is well aware of this.
Don't think for one second that Nokia, Sony, Motorola, Microsoft, or BlackBerry are going to stand by and allow this to happen.
And yes, GSMArena, Supply and Demand is one of the most fundamental concepts of economics. It teaches us that high demand + low supply = higher prices. In this case, however, contracts are in place. As long as parts are in demand for either company, the manufacturer will have to produce at the level it is contractually bound to. Period.

Every Android manufacture except Samsung are losing money and this will just make them lose more. They cannot increase price because no one will pay more for Android phone so they will have to take the lost.
Pretty soon Chinese OEMs are going to shift from Android to Aliyun OS in China and all outside Android makers will be locked out the Chinese market.
