The note 2 barely runs kitkat on the 2GB ram. International s3 had no chance with slower cpu, slower and lower ram.
Actually the amount of RAM matters too. But the other factors matter more. The RAM is easier to explain to people as many people know about the amount of RAM but not the architecture and RAM frequency etc

Power per battery is also a good measure of the efficiency.
If I take your thing into consideration, then according to you cortex a7 is the best architecture asked cortex a15 is the worst. Kraits coming in between.
Anyway, this device will have a great performance with an insane battery life.

The US S3 with 2GB RAM got the update so obviously the size of the RAM matters. If others can offer 3GB RAM so should Samsung - the biggest maker of memory chips. Of they can do it for Korea, they should do it for the rest of the world.

It has a newer architecture that has a much better performance/clock compared to kraits or even cortex a15. You should Google about the SoC used in iPhone 5s.
I am not an apple fan and I own none of apple products. I agree that iPhone 5s is an inferior product but the SoC used is great.
CPU : it uses dual custom cores at 1.3 GHz. That's too little, isn't it. A quad core 2.3 GHz should crush it by 3-4 times. Here you're wrong. They provide similar performance as the snapdragon 800. Snapdragon 801 is better but that is newer.
GPU: the powervr gpu in iPhone 5s is equally powerful as the adreno 330 in snapdragon 800. The adreno 330 in snapdragon 801 is slightly better but the difference is small. Now here is the tricky part. Android phones run at a much higher resolution that is 1080×1920 pixels. Iphone only has 640×1136 pixels. Now that is 3 times lesser pixels to push with equal power. That results in 3 times better performance in games. Additionally, games are better optimised for iOS.
Get over it. Iphone has better gaming performance compared to current android phones. However, android phones have better gaming experience due to the higher resolution screens. Worth snapdragon 805 at 1080p we can get iphone level of performance at 1080p.

The LTE a is no bid deal in Europe.I am getting the equivalent of a 20mb connection BB line with 4G now.
Streaming 1080p on DLNA to TV.
Don't need it any faster.1080p is history.Qhd and UHD is the word.

For those of you who worry about the lack of QHD display - don't worry. By the end of the year, they will also release Galaxy S5 LTE-A QHD to compete with iphone's 5.5 inch display. Whether releasing a gazillion versions is a good or bad thing is another question, which in my believes is a bad thing for them.

Crappy Samsung! no wonder you are loosing money. First you take away the privilege of having a QUAD HD phone on such a good phone now you even remove that before selling to the rest of the world. That's why I picked HTC One M8 over that crappy cheap S5. Nothing has changed and ever will change in the S line. Even the Xperia Z2 is a far better and greater device.
