This rumor contradicts earlier rumors of a 5.7" screen and a camera with Sony sensor.

i have note 3 9005 and the phone quit big in my hand so if note 4 will be 5.5 it seems a good idea for a phablet that not required big hand but i dont mind to downgrade screen size to uhd resolution maybe this report is a fake still nothing from samsung

Thanks God they have stopped bumping up the screen size. 5.5" is maximum you can fit in your pocket.

Is that all ur innovation. Ur just handset maker. Not like apple who invent ios and i apps. Ur get os from google and all u have to do is build good hardware like Nokia. We are not using ur sensor while we watch movie, turn pages, heart rate measuring( rather go to see doctor). Dont install such unnecessary innoviation. Just add innoviation like 250 internal storage which no one add like that amount in smartphone.

Dave, 05 Aug 2014Eh they went smaller with the Galaxy Alpha. Who says they w... moreWell the Galaxy Alpha isn't really a flagship per se. Samsung's flagship line includes the 'S' and 'Note'. Also, you can't really compare the Alpha to anything because there is nothing before it in terms of the generation etc.

If they're gonna make the screen as sized as note 2 then at least I hope they make the screen shape extend in length like the note 3 not in width like in note 2, its ugly.

5.5 screen is better than 5.7.

But there is simply no way that Samsung would go smaller, ever. 2 years ago, a leak showed the unannounced S3 with a 4" 720p display, and look at how that turned out. It is close to impossible for the Note 4 to sport a smaller display. Samsung, or any manufacturer in that case would never go for a smaller display for their next generation smartphone flagship. 5.7" seems credible but so does 5.9" (easy maths here)
