Four new Nokia phones - big fish at the shores of the US

25 May, 2009
Nokia have been holding out - they have four new devices headed to the US and they are not rebrandings of old devices. This is certainly uncommon, the US getting a GSM Nokia phone before Europe does...

In my honest opinion, NOKIA is the #1 mobile manufacturer not because they create/invent/produce the most innovative phones to date, but rather they currently hold the widest selection of phones for different people.

Every individual has their own needs when it comes to phones, whether it be the features or the budget. Nokia flags a wider range of choices for various walks of life.. they have the E-Series(for the business oriented), the N-Series(for people looking for specific features), the Xpress Music series (for the music-oriented), they also have phones for sports enthusiast (5500 sport). Moreover, depending on the consumers budget, they have a phone for every price range.

From reading the comments here, i noticed that some people are nagging about the features of the phones. The problem is people are always seeking for the ultimate phone: looking for 8mp's, wifi, and such.. but let me point out that not all individuals need those around. Some use their phone for voice and sms only. Innov8, Omnia HD, are good phones no doubt.. but they belong to the high-ends when it comes to price and features. It is safe to say that you get the features you want for what you pay for.

If you like omnia,innov8, or iphone then go buy it.. why not? as long as you can afford it and its features satisfy you. These set of phones from nokia were designed for a specific market segment, and when you're not a part of it, there is no need to spout non-sense remarks.

It is pathetic to compare these phones to the high-end phones out there. If they are of the same price range, then you're free to criticize, but they aren't, right?

Nokia can produce the best phone if they want to, like combining all the flagship features they have in their sleeves into one mobile monster, but they chose not to. why? because of Marketing Strategy. Nokia knows that their low-end to mid-end phones produce for income than their high-end ones. The fact is not everyone can afford the high-ends, that's why their focusing more on low to mid-end ones.

As a conclusion, if you have the money then go buy the high-ends regardless of the brand and be happy with it. Its non-sense to compare the high-ends to mid or low-ends because they're not of the same price range.

Hope that clears out all the fuss.

It's no surprise the US are getting these "first".

They are basic phones for a basic telephone network.

They will not see the light of day in Europe because, as some have already said, phones like these are now considered "entry level" and are basically 2 years out of date, especailly as the European cellular network is so much more advanced compared to the US.

Probably Nokia just "testing the market" over there with some low cost phones to see if rolling out the high spec stuff will be worth the investment...
