I live in India, I find very few people owing Local brands such as Micromax, Karbon, Lemon, Spice or Pepper. So i don't trust the Survey done by Counterpoint.
I myself keep changing my ph often and it's always a know international brand -Samsung(*S2, Note1, S3), Sony(*P990, Xperia E, ""E1), Apple (*3GS), Moto(*E), Asus(""Zenfone 5), LG(*Older Model).

True, the underdog companies, like Gionee, Micromax, Xaiomi, Oppo, etc. are threatening the existence of Samsung.
But these companies can beat Samsung together very easily, but not that easily alone...
And Samsung?
They have a premium appeal but they're spoiling it by not introducing proper products.
Samsung Galaxy S5 didn't have Snapdragon.
Neither it had 4G LTE.
Plus, reports of overheating were online.
Plus, no proper reviews existed of Galaxy S5. People were buying one, seeing the reviews of the Snapdragon version instead.
It was insulted in front of the whole world on Flipkart, and Samsung clearly got the lesson:- You can't fool Indians.
India is an "entire deal" market. The deal has to be damn good.
There's a reason why 1 Lac Xiaomi Mi3's got sold in 2 seconds in India.

Samsung may claim supremacy in Indian market but it is very short lived. It has no answer to assault of Moto and Xiaomi. Indians no linger perceive value in Sammy. And high priced Samsung phones can not match VFM of these new brands.

SAMSUNG S5 and SONY XPERIA T3 is the best smartphones in INDIA HTC and other brands are not much popular as sony or samsung
