Nope. I wont opp for any samsung device even it have a giga-core with selling price just 1usd. Never!

There seems to be a continuous flow of people knocking Apple hardware. They do make some hardware, and are increasingly doing so.
Inside every Samsung is either an Exynos (which is just Qualcomm licensed technology so it's really just a ripoff of an American company).
Current Exynos is octa core and still only fractionally faster than a quad core Qualcomm - i.e. they don't know what they're doing.
GPU inside Samsungs? Mali (ARM - UK), or Adreno (Qualcomm - US)
There's never really anything truly Korean in Samsung except good marketing, packaging, and factory fabrication.
In terms of actual hardware made by the phone device assemblers, I'd say Motorola probably make their own stuff the most - and they are in the hands of .. you guess it - Google - an American company (their main high-tech patents at least). Mobility is owned by China and is mainly production patents afaik.
And if it's not Qualcomm or ARM processors in your phone, then it's Intel (US) or nVidia (US). The display technology for all these phones was developed mainly by Sharp (Japan) so things are very different than you people think they are..

Apple only makes the s/w, and designs the CPU , other than that they make no H/W at all.

Android is not optimized for any one hardware platform. Lack of hardware optimization = more clock cycles to get work done. So higher battery drain.

Alot of people tend to forget that the iphone is powering a tiny screen and small hardware. So all the reviewers seem to forget that when refering to it. If it had an hd screen that was half an inch taller then we could say smooth performance was due to optimizations. Plus 64 bit processing already gives the iphone 5s an advantage as it is. All im saying is id like to see how the old iphone would jave held up against other 2013/14 flagships with yhe same processing power but with a larger 1080p screen.

All the phones looks the same. So why everyone complaining about it?! Get a life people and stop being such geeks and dorks. Be glad we have options to choose from high end to low end devices. Some like iOS, some like Android and some like WP.

The last time i checked the iphone 5s has a 1560mah battery. Alpha is more in numbers. Why are you complaining then? Ive never read any comment whatsoever regarding the iphone battery. Why? Because apple is american and americans always win? Please stop this. Apple products are no better than others. Most people use android.. Check mashable for instance they are always biased and act as there's no other phones than the iphone. Please.. Till when will you be fooled by this? I bet most of the analytics are wrong where apple dominates.

Virtually all the negative comments about these specs are made by Samsung followers, even Orchard Dwellers have ventured here to mock Samsung mid range specs
FYI now a clearer picture of the Alpha has emerged, it is apparent that Samsung have released a 4.7" Android iPhone6
Gsmarena have even commented on its resemblance to an iPhone, and for it to be 32Gb non expandable is not a Samsung
Also the name Alpha, really.
Gsmarena have today 13/08/14 published a preview of the Alpha so read it.
The specs are not those of the S5 and that was to to divert / delay attention, but in doing so upset fans
We are talking Samsung. Are we to accept that Samsung cannot release a phone that does not look like an iPhone, that now apple have increased the iPhones size, Apple cannot take action against Samsung alone.

Finaly Samsung changed from plastic body to metal.bt battery is always poor.but alpha is look like iPhone body they copied I think.

Samsung has lost the ''cool'' factor in their flagship phones by giving the same design language to most of the Galaxy phones, from low to high end. This Alpha has nothing, except it looks better than all the Galaxy phone due to the metal treatment. It looks like a bigger S2 and inspired by the iPhone design. The specs are decent, except the 1800 mAh battery, plastic back panel which is thankfully not dimpled like the S5 and no microSD card slot.

Battery life would be a good trade off for the low res screen. The problem afterwards would be pricing. It's still difficult to justify pricing the alpha over 500 bucks.
