01 June, 2009
It has only been several months since the Toshiba TG01 and its 1GHz Snapdragon CPU were officially unveiled and here comes something else to look forward to. The 1.3GHz Qualcomm's QSD80650A...

Perfect for the new category of computers Smartbooks, perhaps not even intended for use in a mobile phone.

i have a E70 and i never had a problem till it was run over by a car and the screen cracked

No lag,No freezing up,No sluggish preformance nothing until it was run over

so if a 4 year old phone with ARM7 CPU at 200Mhz or so can be fast then your a sad person that don't know about speed

This is it, man. 1.3GHz is really the top of the line.

I don't think that any multimedia phone will surpass the 2.0GHz, unless it is a Netbook. The most a multimedia phone will get is something well below 2.0GHz with a multi-core due to energy consumption restriction.

If a 1GHz is supposed to consume what is is. A 30% more efficient consumption energy of 1GHz will equal be to a 700MHz chip consumption. For a 1.3GHz chip to have a theoretical consumption of an existing 700MHz is a major leap!!! I am for it.

Nokia's are the slowest phones on the market mate, and consistantly are prone to crashing and a number of problems. Symbian, WM are both poor platforms as they are not efficient enough. The best OS is still mac (havent used the web os from pre yet mind you) and really, to optimize this sort of power from a chipset, then a good os like that is required. And just so you know, N96 is the worst phone for faults recently, so believe me N97 will be no better...

THE new chip is using less power ,,but anyway with this type clock speed with decent ran surly must cure the lag problem in smartfones..If it does not make much difference say to a 850mhz pressure then all your doing is flattening the battery..THE samsung d600/900 used a 104mhz chip but the u600 went even slimmer with a smaller battery but still obtained the same battery time near ehuf as the d900..What they did was use an 84mhz clock speed..Why say this??Well imagine what 1.3ghz will do at 13-14 times the speed of the 84mhz speed ??
