As always, Nokia arrive at the party late with a sub-standard offering.

Only a matter of time before the remaining loyal fanboys concede defeat to Samsung.

More I read reviews about it, and base on last machines I own, I'm not waiting for this device. In between the words in different reviews, I read that its slow and bulky machine.

This time I will wait few month before I make decision to buy or not.

I am such a Nokia fan but last year while I was waiting for a Nokia/Symbian touchscreen I purchased the Omnia I900, now I cannot go back to Nokia.Symbian until 2 Massive problems are fixed

              1. Kinetic/Flick Scrolling
              2. Word Suggestion/Correction when typing (unless you have used a
win Mobile you don’t know how useful this feature is)

It's going to be a hit, no doubt about it. Purely because of the hype and well it's nokia, everyone knows nokia.
It's just a shame they couldn't have done more.
They have the capabilities to make:

600+ Mhz Processor (but even better, 1.3Ghz snapdragon from Qualcomm)
REAL games for it, I despise Ngage! (apple have got it spot-on)
following real Games, real 3D acceleration.
                    AMOLED Screen
                    Higher-Res Screen
MORE RAM! Nokias always have too little RAM. and you get the usual "Not enough memory" crap all the time.
                    8 or 12MP camera phone, with 30FPS 720p.
Dual flash (DualLED for filming in dark situations & Xenon for Pictures)
                    Capasative Display, (resistive is awful!)
                    Multitouch

I'm happy with the form factor, I think it's beautiful, and I'm happy with the 32GB. I just want MORE from Nokia. They should be blasting away the competition with their experience and knowlege of everything mobile.

And on a software side, They need to completely upgrade their Sybian OS. They REALLY need to take a leaf out of PALM/Apples OS design.

Nokia have been so lazy, And I guarentee if we didn't have the likes of SE,LG,HTC,Palm & Apple we would still be walking round with 5110's!

This device will sell well in all the countries appealing to those who require a qwerty keypad. This device whilst it represents an attractive option faces a strong alternative for those not requiring a keypad in form of the outstanding 5800 xpress which comprises most of the technology on board the N97 and which is arguably one of the very best value devices on the world market.

when this phone was first anounced i was wery excited about it and if i it were available i would definetly buy it, but now there are fare more advanced devices alredy available and the have moderate price tags. This phone is simply too late to be a successful flagship of brand that aims to be the best in the buisness. It is outdated before it even appeared, it's features can now be found in middle class devices and if this is the very best nokia has to offer then the companies future dosen't look bright. To conclude, my commodore64 was once a state-of-the-art gadget but now it's an antiqe and commodore would go under if it offered it as it's flagship. Nokia has lost a fan and i have a feeling that is's more than just one person.

Compared with Samsung Omnia HD (i8910), this Nokia N97 is kinda crap in term of the processor they use which is kinda low and without 3D hardware acceleration. They only win is their QWERTY hardware base keyboard. (Compared with Omnia HD)

Come on! when Nokia is going to release somethings stunning!

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2009N97 have 32GB, maybe new iPhone will come with 32GB, maybe.... more"Nokia/SE can sent Group SMS natively but Windows, Android and Apple Cannot." Its unsound statement. Just remember .. WinMo can do virtually anything you want. All u need is 'knowledge' of how to use smart phone.
Even GSM arena mentioned that there's nothing exciting abt this N97 . I used N96 b4 and its crash all the time. Thats my last nokia , lol.

Nokias got to start speeding up of the release of there mobiles,as they announce them to early then the other produces see them, then release a better mobile than the one Nokia as got i hopes on,they seem to to that long to get the software sorted out,so either stop announcing them to early or offer them for sale straight away, theres i hopes on the N97 but Nokia as got to realise like the others not everyone likes touch screen mobiles.o.k offices workers can but industrial workers can"t as they have to Gloves Wear

N97 have 32GB, maybe new iPhone will come with 32GB, maybe. The rest are upto 16GB only.

Nokia/SE can sent Group SMS natively but Windows, Android and Apple Cannot.

Nokia camera although 5mp only, there are decent enough for a phone and Nokia photos are passable. What is the point of higher 12mp camera when there NO OPTICAL Zoom to maximise the camera modules.

N97 have both Touch and Hardware Qwerty keyboard. This is best of both world.

N97 is a convergent device, and highly internet enabled with those Widgets on the Home Screen, with lower Broadband Mobile plans these days, such Widgets are now very useful.

                                      I am very excited over N97 !!!

                                      Cant wait to buy one.

Nokia doesn't excite any more! Crap CPU, too little Ram, average camera, etc. There is almost nothing extraoridinary about it in reality. Will probably be forgotten in 12 months, just like N96.
