AnonD-286309, 27 Aug 2014The next Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will embarrass HTC's atte... moreWhat quality? The tablets that their backs deform by themselves due to the insanely bad thermals they have? Samsung's all platic construction (don't come and tell me it has magnesium on the inside as i'm talking about the outside) is already bad on phones let alone on tablets, Samsung makes uninspired tablets which can still make the S800 lag in day to day usage. Their software is a huge letdown IMO.

Muthu, 27 Aug 2014Hmm, that is an interesting view point. The typical problem... moreHTC lost its shine years ago. Today it lives in the shadows of the universally popular and innovative Galaxy S and Note lines. I will need a good tablet to complement my Note 4. HTC won't cut it. A feature-packed Note 10.1 will. This will be true for most consumers. Google should have known better than to provoke the sleeping giant, Samsung.

That picture is 16:9. Not even 16:10 or 4:3. But 16:9... Disastrous for tablet. Unless it's just a fake.

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2014I think unless HTC dun plan on a tablet for themselves else... moreAgree with you. Cost would become a problem if HTC need to maintain price point of earlier nexus devices and build quality will suffer as a consequence. But I also read in gsmarena that google may not make low-cost tablets going forward and they are planning to make premium tablets only. If that is the case, no need for HTC to cut corners. Let us wait and see what transpires.

I don't say that HTC makes the best phones but they put better materials and better quality in their products than samsung does

AnonD-286309, 27 Aug 2014The next Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will embarrass HTC's atte... moreHmm, that is an interesting view point. The typical problems with nexus tablets are build quality, audio quality and battery life. HTC can easily solve the first 2 problems, though battery life could still be an issue.

HTC is admired for excellent build quality in mobiles, while samsung is not exactly admired for it. Also this is the first time HTC is going to make a proper tablet. So not sure why you think this would be a fail and samsung should have partnered with Google. As far as I am concerned, Android tablets need better quality than what is available currently (compared to ipads), having one more quality manufacturer entering this space is a good for consumers.

The next Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will embarrass HTC's attempt at a Nexus device. Google should have chosen a better manufacturing partner. Samsung's quality speaks for itself. Period.

The aim of Nexus devices is not to have a very fast processor or GPU, the aim is to showcase how well Android runs on a good processor. Thus, they never target the high end specifications available.
