Its predecessor the Mate 1 was big, and in fact first one to start the "phablet" category. This time with Mate 7 they have brought in high end specs and will be competing with like of Samsung Note and other 5.5+ inch phone.
You want 5inch size, go for Huawei Honor 6 or coming soon sapphire edition Huawei ascend P7.

Nobody is following HTC in the use of ultra pixels.
Similar exterior refreshing from the iPhone design but in the end who cares as there is only a finite amount of designs
As it stands this phone will be cheaper have real pixels and removable battery , however despite the specs 5" is my biggest display this ever increasing display sizes are getting ridiculous.
