Nicky, 04 Sep 2014Microsoft ruined Nokia, some years before Nokia ruled all, ... moreWhy don't you people think before you say Nokia should have gone Android, what would Nokia offer on Android that is not already on the the 1000 other Android manufacturers

I watch the near 48 minute presentation
Nokia with Windows have brought Windows to say 2010

The Lumia 830 is a 5" 16Gb Quad Core 10Mp smart phone which costs €330 /$428 and it updates the Lumia 820

      Nb if as rumoured the IPhone6 remains @8Mp the 830 will have have a 2Mp camera advantage and a 410mAh battery advantage(2220 v 1810)

The only negative is the lack of Quality Control 500 new apps are being added each week, and believe there are apps there that aren't worth the paper the were written on

Cyan brought Windows into this decade, the 830 is a good phone and is a mid range with the next tier having 12-13Mp

You will notice that some of the Apps installed on a Nokia are the ONLY working variant, the competitors apps just don't work so how can they be counted

There is another Windows Upgrade called Denim which rolls out in December 2014

Each update adds more and Windows can compete, however having modelled itself on IOS it needs to add the flexibility of Samsung

The 830 offers a stepping stone to those who opted for the bargain basement 520

Nokia using Windows is proving to have been the right choice and there are features NOT on Android

My gripe is the App market, e.g. Camera Burst was the last App available (NOT working) on Windows and I had 2 of these on Android

AnonD-293538, 04 Sep 2014Will be curious to know about there new flagship Lumia 830 ... moreI agreed with you totally on Lumia's performance.

Very very unfortunate that in term of Apps, Windows is still very lacking behind both iOS and Android.

I repeatedly remind Microsoft to close this gap but Mr.Elope refused to listen.

I hope Mr.Satya will be more liberal and listening to end users.

          Where is Mr. Elop?
He was supposed to give keynote speech?

Smarter, 04 Sep 2014LOL. There are presented new high end devices at IFA for e... moreNot really, I more have to laugh about your comment. These phones offer good specs and low prices. If you buy a 2014 samsung of 330 euro you will have a super crappy device with specs from 2011, and Apple doesn't even offer a 330 euro costing 2014 phone. Yeah you can have a 4 year old iPhone 4 for 330 euro.
Note 4 price is 800 euro, ridiculous. For that kind of money you must be really stupid to buy such a phone that isn't even worth 800 euro. Yes, 800 euro.

Great phones, I think the Lumia 830 will become very popular at this price point with all what it offers.

              LOL.
There are presented new high end devices at IFA for example Samsung Note 4, Sony Z3c, ZTE Blade vec, Lenovo Vibe X/Z2, Huawei Mate 7, Meizu MX4, Asus high end tablets,Acer and many many more.
And Microsoft? They have unveiled low cost, midrange phones total craps. Managers at Microsft should feel shame. Other companies must laugh them.

Im a die hard Android fan but open for other OS's if they are able to full fill my requirements. But so far BB/iOS/Windows Phone have failed. Windows Phone is no doubt buttery smooth and pretty sleek but Microsoft has a lot to do interms of getting developers to the platform. What use of a smart phone in this very competitive market if there are no apps to get things done, and when we say apps we need a choice.

I just want to attach a file other than image in a pre-written mail. Microsoft, when are you doing that? Call recording? True Caller like in android? there are a very few, but important things which i miss in my Lumia 925. Other than that this buttery smooth device is just awesome. Stop updating camera with denim update n all, that is already way better than others. Focus on the issues i just mentioned and which have been posted by millions others on different forums.

Microsoft ruined Nokia, some years before Nokia ruled all, now they are much worse...If they had used Android for OS would be the leading company now. Windows phone is really more boring and offers less possibilities than Android. Not to speak that Microsoft spoiled once great Nokia's feature phones. It's a pity for Nokia, now they are Microsoft, not the Finnish masters.

I think there will be android phones from Microsoft pretty soon.Recently Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella had some talks with Cyanogen Mod Team that makes the best custom ROM for android.I would really love to see Nokia's Hardware and CM software.Killer Combo!

Will be curious to know about there new flagship Lumia 830 and yes I do think it will be Nokias new flagship as it has everything that the 930 didn't.

And for everyone that says Nokia is crap, well I have owned both Android and Windows Phone and I must admit that the UE of Windows phone excels Android. Android to this day with all its quad processors is still very laggy and hangs everyday.
It is far from a efficient operating system. Also Nokia do know how to make a darn good phone but I wish they would push the boat out and come with a beast for people that are looking for a high end device.

Let's see what the next few months will bring!
