this would be an ideal phone for soldiers and cops who are always out in the field.

Seems like anybody can build smartphone.

Next I would like to see Coke and Pepsi release their new smartphones.

AnonD-221557, 04 Sep 2014My old S3 with Seidio Obex do the same with less money !doubt that. standard MIL 810G means even the internals of the device are shatter proof, not just the sides, back cover and the screen.

AnonD-1385, 04 Sep 2014Seems expensive to me.its unlikely you'll replace this phone after dropping it.

                therefore, good value for money.

Its cheap but i feel this would sell just as well or better at a higher price with better specs, for example 32GB (16 minimum) and a better chipset with 2GB RAM. I rather pay $649 for that than $500 for this.

Also, the LED flash should be more powerfult o use as flashlight, thats extremely important on a phone like this. I once had to spend hours to repair an emergency generator in the middle of the night outdoors and alone during a tropical storm with a cellphone as the only light source, i can promise you will not want a tiny LED flash when doing that. My $11 China phone has dual LED flashlight so surely the cost isnt the issue for CAT here?
