I have a 6Plus that I Jailbroke.. I Installed SatusModifier to keep track of my available RAM refreshed every second. With No open apps and not touching the phone I get 45-55mb.. If I open and app and navigate on it, it drops to 14mb-23mb... What happened to 1Gig????

Apple was very late in releasing bigger screen phones. Up to now, they are still releasing only 1gb ram phones. They are losing their edge. Whats wrong apple?

AnonD-73252, 18 Sep 2014Would you like to know why Diabolik?
Let me answer for y... more"RAM takes electricity from the battery to power it. Twice the RAM = More Power Consumption."
Ignorance is bliss. Low voltage ram in an idle state consumes minimal power. On the other hand, as a result or a lack of ram, there is more frequent access to the NAND, which actually consumes more battery.
I often see your flawed argument used in defending Apple's refusal to increase memory. It's a joke because you are trying to convince yourself that the lack of memory is actually a good thing.

Why are people even mentioning RAM and performance in the same sentence? 1gb ram provides a problem with multitasking. It has nothing to do with performance.

Why are droid lovers so mean? The benchmarks on these phones are near the same even with apples dual core and less ram. It's all about their architecture on how the phones and their hardware work together. Mac computers tend to have lower specs than a high end PC but work just as good as pcs. It's all in the programming working with the hardware. Stop being haters. As for battery life you need to realize they are more like computers with calling capabilities. Btw I'm using a galaxy note 3 and not a fanboy.

Increasing ram dosent decrease battery life by any significant measure. Utilization decreases battery life.

Anonymous, 18 Sep 2014iPhone basher here are missing the point entirely. SoCs W... moreDude, this is the funniest comment i have ever read. Increasing RAM will decrease the battery life significantly and that it is not worth increasing the RAM in a phone. By your logic, let iphones/ipads work without any RAM and access the internal storage to do all the processing. That would give extraordinary battery life, right? No, it won't.
It is hilarious to see how much apple has brainwashed ifans. I used to hate people using the word isheep in this forum. It is a personal attack and should not be done. But given your response, I am seriously tempted to use it.

Yes apple has limited specifications and function so may be 1gb is enough but 2gb and 3gb RAM android devices are still much cheaper and more multitasking. Also much more battery capacity and longer back up. So more specifications do not need to put expensive oil after buying. So 1gb

HammerHead, 17 Sep 2014G2 is over fluffed crap G2 is amazing. Powerful battery and not even a single jerk or lag. Plus amazing multi tasking. I abandon samsung because it lags and poor battery. I like smartphone with customization which Iphone doesnt have. So its a matter of choice. No offence. Just chill and enjoy.

Apple are clearly cutting corners here. On one hand you have a higher resolution larger display, but then you have 1GB RAM. Now iPhone fans will genuinely believe they will have a monster of a device, purely based on the fact that the iOS is not as power hungry as an Android OS. This would be ok if no applications were to be used and you are solely using the phone for internet browsing, phone calls and texts. But as everyone knows, you buy a smartphone for the killer feature - applications. And not many people use just one app, most will use a number of applications. Then you have multitasking, this plays a part when switching from app to app. So when you combine all these features, you naturally need power to cope with this effortlessly. If you don't have this, then what you will end up with is minor lag & slower performance. This is why flagship Androids are built to cope with high demand.
The reason why Apple have cut corners is that they are selling the device as Premium with hardware that is not that premium. A customer will fork out £100 more for an iPhone, for what? Less power, a screen with less pixels per inch. But Apple get away with charging more as they say, "we have the best camera". So iPhone fans will naturally think that because the camera is better, and that Apple have advertised the product to be greater than it's competition, they have the best device.
There is no doubt the iPhone is a good phone. But is it better than it's Android high end competition? Not a chance. Limited capabilities should have made this product a lot cheaper than it is.

With WP7 on lumia phones, analysts say that WP7 run really smooth on devices without those highend specs. So as to iOs on iPhones that also run smoothly without those highend specs thingy.
Upon release of WP8, its still the same OS that runs smoothly but now are given with highend specs such as Lumia 930.
Apple is just giving enough for their devices to run, with that price tag on iPhone6 compared to other devices you can get a lot of extras on your device. Why can't Apple you just do what Microsoft has done to Lumia devices. Mind you Apple that this time is a really different game.
