Snapdragon seems going to extreme hi-tec processor/chipset.With mine Xiaomi MI4,internet speed and wifi connection totally insane. Exynos also showed really great improvement after broken heart performance on Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500. Exynos 5 (5430/5433) looks awesome and quite shocking result on Meizu MX4.

                      Similar level to Apple iPhone.

The mobile vs computer markets for chip requirements are very different. yea if you can make the most powerful chip and have it sip the least amount of power, then you will win. But the approach to have cores switch out to have 1 set of powerful cores and one set of energy efficient cores is not a bad one. Using this approach allows the chipmaker to leverage the best of both chip designs without the need to cram in all the tech in one chip. which saves money for everyone.

and I still believe it, better cores are better than a bunch of crappy ones, see intel vs amd for example, 8 cores running at higher frequency getting destroyed by 4 highly efficient i5-i7 cores, this "dual" quadcore setup is beyond ridiculous in my opinion, a complete waste

icoolguy1995, 21 Sep 2014I think nexus x will feature tegra k1(64 bit)Nvidia clearly stated that K1 is targeted at tablets and they also stated they will no longer focus on phones so u won't see it on Nexus 6. In fact historically all Nexus phones always run the premiere Qualcomm chip set while the tablets run Nvidia.

I do agree with Qualcomm that better individual cores are more important, but if you can get 8 of those better cores then that's even better. ;-)
I think qualcomm mainly waited on the big.LITTLE architecture because of the power consumption issues, with the shift to the newer 64-bit cores (which ARM has improved especially in terms of clock-for-clock performance gains) and 22nm fabrication, that has now become a non-issue. Regardless I'm far more interested in the newer Adreno which has h265 encode as well as decode, 4k videos will finally come down to manageable sizes.
