I understand that there are people who prefer smaller phones, myself included. But calling this phone big by today's standards is really wrong. For the current generation of flagship devices the 2nd Gen. Moto X is on the smaller side. We are rapidly getting to a time well all flagship devices will be phablets (blech).

Anyway, for better or worse this is what the market wants. It's why even Apple had to cave and make bigger phones. I'm sure this is a good business decision by Motorola. The number of people who want a small device with flagship specs are very few. The average consumer, who doesn't know better, will just get a mid tier phone, if they want something smaller, and be none the wiser about the specs. Even iPhone 6 users are settling for lesser specs on the smaller of the two iPhone 6s.

I am tempted (love the Teak back). But I want to know when the Z3 will be available on Verizon. The idea of waterproof is very appealing, plus the flash-card slot.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2014This phone is tooo big. It will not be as succes as origina... moreJust wanted here to comment the same. Size, and that the camera on the new X is almost like same as it was on the original X, which is by today's standard simply not acceptable, especially when this is Motorola's flagship device.

It used to be the last "one handed" flagship. Moto - fail moto: If you have a good thing do not amend its weaknesses, throw it all away.
