Vertu phoes are assembled by hand like fine jewellery - that's what you are paying for, and anyone who buys one of these will not care what it is worth in a years time.

I guess the days of these phones being all about good material and horrible specs are truly over.
                  However is not very attractive.

Most of the people commenting here would probably say that a Patek Philippe or a Breguet watch are ugly too - to a point they'd be right, but they do have a personality.

TyroneS, 02 Oct 2014Vertu phone price is not base on performance or function. ... moreGranted this device is made of premium materials & build quality - but surely with the additional craftsmanship & cost should come a respective emphasis on design.
The majority of comments here indicate this is considered not just poorly designed but ugly.
No one would expect to produce say an Aston Martin sports car that is considered 'ugly'by the majority of people which means there's little to no 'envy' factor normally associated with hi end exclusively expensive products. The design & aesthetic aspect has been neglected with this device and it shows. Don't take my word for it - read the overall responses. It just doesn't work.

Deek, 02 Oct 2014Oh c'mon! You people keep complaining or commenting about h... morenope, the math don't work, like every other people living in the modern world, i replace my phone almost every year, but every replacement is an actual upgrade, with better specs, better camera, better screen, better everything . . . for 5(FIVE) years, if i buy a flagship phone every year, it would cost me around $2,800 for 5 phones each with upgraded features, this phone however, costs $9,700 for one as the most expensive . . .

comparing the price with regular phones, i'll have to keep using this for more than 15 years for every year I use a flagship phone . . that means, after 15 years, i'll still be stuck with a very very outdated phone

                                  if you buy Vertu,
you get what you pay for.

yes, it's very expensive, but it's made of handcrafted selected premium materials that justify the sky-high price.

unlike some certain companies that charged premium price for their cheap bendable alloy phone.

zaro, 02 Oct 2014No one will buy this ugly phone and nameMany will buy this. Believe it or not there is a market for such phones. Most times it is not for individual buyers, but rather as impressive gifts, from wealthy individuals or companies.

It works as an extravagant corporate gift, a rich guy old guy trying to impress a young model who wouldn't look at him otherwise lol, door gifts at very high end events, for example Hollywood launch parties etc.

Not something I agree with, but doesn't mean the market does not exist.
