If we were to be honest, beyond fanboism, there are only two worlds of tablets which make most sense right now: the iPad world, which is still the simplest and most popular (and surely will still be for at least the next 2 years) with the widest choice of high quality tablet-optimized applications, and then the Windows tablets, which are the closest one can get to a laptop-like solution.
Android tablets on the other hand are somewhere in between the above-mentioned worlds, which inevitably make them lack-lusters from two different sides at the same time: They sacrifice the 'tablet-simplicity' of the iPads by adding more PC-like features in their OS, yet those features are implemented in such way that makes them too limiting and not so ergonomic in order to use them as proper laptop-replacements, like a Surface Pro 3 tablet.
In whole, although all of the above form a subjective opinion, I surely speak of personal experience, having been using all three platforms in the last couple of years.
