I got a HTC desire eye it has 3 network apps preloaded, got my Vodafone SIM in it, I can call and text but not use my data allowance because it won't configure automatically. How do I fix this and get my 4G data running?

AnonD-118335, 09 Oct 2014Phones can come locked but if requested they have to unlock... moreSmallest network as they started by ONLY having 3G handsets, so whilst all the premium / flagship and now midrange handsets are 3G and and above, you won't find 2G handsets like Nokia 1200 being used on 3

              Vodafone EE, O2 all have 2G & 3G customers

For those that care the words you read, can easily be spoken through my mouth, unlike jerico9

I moved to "3" longtime, and always check to see if I can upgrade for less, I can't.

Wilst I do not know about Vodafone, O2 and EE have an automatic RPI increase BUILT IN, ie part of the T&C

O2 and EE, in any 2 year contract you will have 2 automatic RPI increases in your tariff, approx March each year.
Start a contract now tariff increase in march 2015, and again March 2016 (in the sm,allprint of newspaper adverts)

When you start a contract on 3 you won't end up paying any more 4, even with RPI

4G speed is constant, my point is this is the real world not a bedroom* so size is NOT important

              * EE were formed by the marriage of T-Mobile & Orange, and 3 were on course to have a larger customer base than T-Mobile

The tariffs on 3 will be the cheapest of all the networks, so if you find your handset cost less choose that network

Phones from three aren't usually locked unless they're iphones, every one of my mates who's had a phone from three has had the international version. Maybe a while back it would have been locked to three but for the likes of HTC it wouldn't have been.

paul/bom, 09 Oct 2014Not sure why one of the best handsets on the market is excl... moreThree's service is brilliant these days, not like they used to be at all. They moved my on to 4G for nothing when my area got it a couple of months ago and I still have unlimited data, which I make great use of and have never been throttled as far as I've noticed.

It used to be they were far cheaper than the other networks, but that was reflected in their poor coverage. Now though their coverage is pretty much as good as the other networks and they're still far cheaper.

Of course, if you are in one of the areas that they have poor coverage then it still sucks to be with Three, but that would be your own fault for not doing a bit of research before choosing your network.

Not sure why one of the best handsets on the market is exclusive to one of the worst networks available? unlimited minutes unlimited texts and unlimited data....extremely limited service.Erm.......wheres ya 4g three????

Phones can come locked but if requested they have to unlock however not sure with exclusive ones. O2 have the fire and that's locked. Can be unlocked after 3 months. This is a bad move for HTC. Three are a poor poor network. The signal is getting better but that will never ever change their customer service because that's where the cost cutting is. Smallest network tut tut. Hope it's a short term like 3 months till Jan or something

All three phones are now unlocked also. Wondering whether this would be the case for this phone? If you go on any product page it tells you all their phones are now sold unlocked.
