Google unveils Android 5.0 Lollipop as an official name

In a surprise announcement today, Google revealed that Android L will be called Lollipop after all.

great workig google,people like me would may wear pants with large pockets for the 5.9 inch monster

    With an announcement like this, there should be pre-prepared roster by all vendors of what devices are upgradeable and whats not .. a sort of customer service so we are not left in the blank!

        Damn, they didn't agree on something with Nestle or possibly Apple had a hand into not picking Lion :(

        Nevermind tho, Lollipop fits perfectly their naming scheme.

                      Good move! Lollipop is so much cooler than Lion.
                      And this way it doesn't get boring or predictive, Kitkat was a fun name and it will be a "one off" kind of name.

                          Lollipop of course its one of the most popular candy or sweets wherever you go. but does that mean we have to lick our phones to turn the screen on or lock screen is it the newest feature?

                                Google has confirmed that the Nexus 4 will receive an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop and this article has been updated to reflect that.
