Fring is better. It even has SIP support and call via MSN. If you are not into fring the Nimbuzz has a better interface and all is free!!!

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2009is it actually "push" notification or just background notif... moreThe app runs active and in the background; that's what Multitasking is about. All notifications are real time. And by your post; I can tell you've never used a Nokia Smartphone before. Blackberry may not handle multitasking easily without killing your battery, but I've used multiple apps on my N97 without a significant hit on my battery life.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2009is it actually "push" notification or just background notif... moreyou WANT push notification on an s60 device why?

I accidentally left my wifi on all day (turned it on in the morning to check weather, then left it on my table until after dinner), and the battery charge didnt move an inch. 5800 on wifi isnt rated too long, its what, 5 hrs max of continuous usage? the thing had the wifi connection available for at least 7 hrs, battery didnt move, and when i resumed surfing on it, the next page loaded as fast as the browser could render it.

s60 doesnt need push notification, it can handle online connections QUITE well while draining minimal power.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2009is it actually "push" notification or just background notif... moreIt won't drain the battery. I've run countless IM clients in the background on my nokias and they all lasted fine. Nokia battery life is far superior to blackberry, iPhone battery life.

is it actually "push" notification or just background notification meaning the app/phone itself should always be connected to the internet. if the latter, then it will drain the battery...unlike blackberry...
