Definitely works on Magic--been using it for a month now. Pretty smooth.. only issue I'm having is no bluetooth yet... but the developers are working on it so that too will be working soon.
Extremely fast nowadays... no lagging between screens no constant reloading of the UI. If you decide to try it... do a LOT of research to know what you are doing before you attempt it. There are a couple steps which, if not done correctly, will brick your phone.

Boris, 03 Jul 2009I haven't read the all the entries yet but can I install it... moreThe first thing you should do before asking this question is check the specs of your phone, then check the specs of the T-Mobile G1 or HTC Dream and I'm pretty sure you will be able to answer to your own question. Essentially the main reason why it will be saying things like insufficient memory will be because the G1 and Dream will have 96 MB less memory compared to the Hero. Which sadly makes the Vodafone and with Google branded phones look like a bit of a dud but I'm sure there will be a firmware update of some sort coming out anyway for these phones, here's hoping the interface looks just as slick

This is BS...
The G1 never had support for multi touch.
Another thing is that sense UI on the G1 would look like Android on an Samsung Omnia = not good.

This is an Android UI, not a WinMo one.The X1 might be winmo, like the Samsung Omnia but...

My only concern is that since the unreleased Hero (which this GUI is designed for) doesn't have a hardware keyboard...will this be compatible with say my G1 that does? Or does it make my hardware keyboard completely useless?

The HTC Magic from Rogers in Canada is a non-Google phone and so HTC will offer Sense as a free download I think. You will need to hack a T-Mobile or Vodafone Magic though.
