Motorola shares stunning Edge and Edge+ camera samples

Ivan, 23 April 2020

Yesteday Motorola unveiled the Edge+ and Edge - they share a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and general design, but have different chipsets, batteries and camera setups.

The Motorola Edge+ has the superior 108MP camera, which outputs 27MP 4-in-1 pixel-binned results, while the vanilla Edge has a 64MP main camera that combines 4 pixels into 1 for 16MP. The 16MP 13mm ultrawide snapper is shared between the two while the 8MP telephoto comes with 3x zoom on the Edge+ and 2x on the regular Edge.

After the announcement Motorola released a bunch of sample images, taken with the pair of Edge smartphones and we've compiled them neatly for you below.

Official camera samples are amazing to look at, but we don't know how much effort or extra equipment was involved in creating them so we'll reserve our judgement until we get to review the two phones.

Looking at these up close makes me wonder who did what to these in terms of editing. There are a lot of funky edges and pixel aberrations. Reminds me of a photoshop gallery filter. If these are straight off the camera then the camera sucks pretty har...

Horrible quality in full size crops. Even my old (2015) LG G4, had better details. Look at portraits, faces are like wax, scary to look :(
