Poco is now rebranding the Redmi Note 10S, FCC documents show

Redmi and Poco absolutely love to play the rebranding game, and it definitely looks like this isn't going to stop anytime soon. In fact, Poco may be getting ready to rebrand yet another device - in this case, we're talking about the Redmi Note 10S, which launched under that name back in 2021.

It's a bit late to rebrand a handset more than a year after it first surfaced, but that's exactly what some newly surfaced FCC documents show is going to happen. Poco has asked for an FCC certification based on the previous one issued for the Redmi Note 10S, given that the two handsets are identical save for some minor variations.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the Redmi Note 10S (with the model number M2101K7BNY) ran MIUI 12 when it got certified, while the upcoming Poco model will launch with MIUI 13 on board - understandable, a year later. Furthermore, the Poco phone will share one RAM/storage version with its sibling (6/128GB), but also come with two new ones, which haven't been seen on the Redmi: 4/64GB and 4/128GB. It will also be available in a new blue version.

The Redmi Note 10S has a 6.43-inch 1080x2400 60 Hz AMOLED screen, the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC at the helm, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It comes with a quad rear camera system (64 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro, 2 MP depth), and a 13 MP selfie shooter at the front.

The upcoming Poco should have all of those features too, and given the hardware here we're assuming it will be part of the C or M families of Poco devices. With the FCC certification out of the way, the official launch is probably right around the corner.

G96 is crap even G99 aswell with its weak Mali-G57 MC2 gpu vs Mali-G76 MC4 gpu of G95. Maybe if they increase the core of Mali-G57 from 2 to 4 it will be better than Mali-G76 MC4.

Thst is why custom ROM flashing are so popular with Xiaomi phones. The hardware is great, excellent you could even say, but the MIUI software really leaves a lot to be desired.
