OnePlus 13 gets an official unboxing video before its unveiling

Vlad, 23 October 2024

The OnePlus 13 will be unveiled in China on October 31. Before that, we've already seen it in leaked images, and now the company itself has posted a quick official unboxing video of the yet-unannounced device. That's definitely an unorthodox hype-building campaign, but we'll take it since it means we get to see the handset and its packaging early.

Note that as the October 31 launch is for the Chinese market only, the video is in Chinese and the phone runs ColorOS. Internationally, it will of course go with OxygenOS instead.

The red box is still present, as you can see. The screen seems flat with extremely narrow (and seemingly symmetrical) bezels all-round. The leaked design is confirmed, with the camera island being very similar to its predecessor's, but losing its metal connection to the now-flat frame, while the Hasselblad logo has moved.

The OnePlus 13 is powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It will intriguingly support magnetic wireless charging, but most likely through cases.

It's basically 2.5D screen glass. This term was used a while ago and somehow disappeared but is starting to come back to replace the awful curved screens we have been seeing since 2016.

That's what micro curve is , display area is flat , bezel has micro curve it's better for swiping finger on and off screen so best of both , I'm glad they have gone away from the deep curves and it's reflection and hassle finding ...

again, it's a "micro" curve. So the curves are super small, if you saw Vincent's video completely you wouldn't have had any questions, he laid the phone down and showed you a side profile view. It's flat everywhere exce...
