Samsung W25 based on Z Fold Special Edition and W25 Flip pictured in leaked images

Each year, Samsung launches its foldables in the Chinese market under the W-series. They are mostly identical to the Z-series, except with some design mods that make them more attractive to local buyers, a fancy retail box to account for the high price and, usually, more RAM and storage than the Z-models.

The upcoming Samsung W25 will be a little more special – it will be based on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition that is currently available only in South Korea. This means larger cover and internal displays (6.5” and 8.0” vs. 6.3” and 7.6” on the regular Z Fold6), but without S Pen support, plus a 200MP main camera (replacing the 50MP unit).

In terms of design, the Samsung W25 is black with golden highlights along the metal sides and camera bump, as is the style of the W-series. The sides also have a pattern to them, instead of the usual smooth metal finish.

Samsung also makes clamshell foldables for the W-series. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 will be used as the basis for the Samsung W25 Flip since there is no Special Edition for this one.

Samsung China does sell the regular Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, if you prefer. The W24 (based on last year’s Z Fold5) is currently CNY 13,000 for a 16GB/1TB model, while the Z Fold6 is CNY 14,000 for a 12GB/512GB model and CNY 16,000 for a 12GB/1TB option. Of course, this is a year after the W24 first arrived, originally it cost CNY 16,000.

And there are reasons to pick the W-foldable over the Z-foldable, besides the extra RAM and spruced up looks. Check out that retail package, it has a charger and a case in it. Now that’s luxury. We’re joking, of course, but the W25 Flip also has a charger and case, which is more than can be said of the barebones Z Flip6 retail package.

Nobody cares about overpriced garbage available everywhere.

this is true for EVERY company. Star Wars and a lot of other franchises want to be "progressive" and stuff but in China they remove all that, for example they reduced John Boyega's size in the poster. Isn't that racist? It is, but...
