vivo S20 and S20 Pro debut in China
As expected vivo announced its S20 series smartphones in China today with a focus on design and upper midrange specs. The main differences between the vivo S20 and vivo S20 Pro boil down to the chipsets, cameras and battery capacity.

Both S20 models share 6.67-inch AMOLED displays (FHD+ 120Hz), which peak at up to 4500 nits of brightness. The S20 gets a flat panel, while the one on the Pro is curved on all four corners. Both phones feature 50MP selfie cams with autofocus and in-display optical fingerprint scanners.

vivo S20 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset while the S20 Pro gets a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC at the helm. S20 Pro also brings faster Wi-Fi 7 and support for 5.5G connectivity in mainland China.
Around the back, the S20 features a 50MP main cam (OV50E) with OIS alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens and vivo’s Aura light circular LED light.
The S20 Pro takes things up a notch with its 50MP main shooter (IMX921) with OIS and a 3x periscope zoom lens using the IMX882 sensor. The third shooter is a 50MP ultrawide.
vivo S20 Pro brings the more capable cameras
The other major difference between thet two phones is their battery capacity with the S20 getting a larger 6,500 mAh cell with 80W fast charging while the S20 Pro settles for a 5,500 mAh battery with slightly faster 90W charging.
Both phones boot OriginOS 5 based on Android 15.

vivo S20 comes in Phoenix Feather Gold, Jade dew white, and Pine Smoke Ink. Pricing starts at CNY 2,299 ($317) for the 8/256GB trim.
vivo S20 Pro comes in Phoenix Feather Gold Purple Air, and Pine Smoke Ink colors. Pricing starts at CNY 3,399 ($468) for the 8/256GB trim.

Both of the vivo S20 series devices are on pre-order on vivo China’s official website. Deliveries are scheduled for December 12.
